Loud thunder roared through the dark clouded skies. Heavy raindrops began to bang roughly against the ground, as the students rushed their way through the steel double doors of Fort Benning High.
Julia sighed angrily as she walked into the building. She wiped the raindrops that flowing slowly down the side of her cheeks. She walked to her locker slamming the palm of her hand roughly against it.
"Whoa! Someone woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning."
Julia turned sighing deeply.
"Hey Juls... What's wrong?"
She closed her eyes, bowing her head. She took a deep breath and opened her eyes once again. She looked up and smiled at her pretty friend.
"Nothing... I'm just having a bad day."
"Aw... How come?"
"Oh it's nothing ... just forget about it."
"Ohhhhhh k.... Anyways... Listen, I wanted to ask you something."
"Yeah sure... What's up?"
"Well, my agent McDonald called me. I have a photo shoot this weekend in Orlando."
"Hold on... Let me finish."
Julia laughed and nodded for her to continue.
"So anyways... After the photo shoot I have to attend a party for a movie premiere."
"Oh that's cool! But what did you want to ask me?"
"If you wanted to come with me?"
"Wha.... What? Are you insane?"
"What? What's so insane about it?"
"Sylvia do you know what you just asked me?"
"Uh yeah, if you wanted to go with me." She said giving her a weird look.
"Sylvia! I can't go to anything like that!"
"I mean c'mon... You're a model. Everyone knows who you are... And I'm just a nobody. Just a regular lonely loser."
"Oh hush girl! You are not a nobody or a lonely loser... You're someone special."
"Yeah maybe to a dog."
"Oh hush up! You're someone special to me and you'll find someone who is special like you too." Sylvia said as she and Julia started walking to their class.
"Now listen... Thursday we're going shopping t--"
"What for?" Julia asked, interrupting Sylvia's sentence.
"To buy you some clothes silly girl!" She laughing.
"Well, I don't have any money."
"Well, I do... And lots of it... Now let me finish."
"After we do that... You'll get packed so --"
"Get packed for what?"
"Girl let me finish!"
Julia laughed and nodded.
"You'll get packed for Friday evening."
They reached their class and took their seats.
"So I take it I'm going with you huh?" Julia asked, as she and Sylvia pulled out their Calculus book, along with their notebooks.
"Damn straight you are!"
Both girls laughed. The bell rang as all of the students took their seats.
"Good morning class!"
"Morning Mr. Matthews!" All the students yelled back.
"OK... Today we are going......"
"What?" She whispered back.
"Remember... Tomorrow shopping, then Friday Orlando."
"Yeah yeah sure sure ... now pay attention."
Sylvia laughed, as she and Julia turned their attention back to their teacher.
