Basic Purpose of The Page
One thing: This isn't meant to be a form of brainwashing or coercion into a mode of thought that you may not be comfortable with. Nor is this a preachy sermon to bore you to tears or worse, anger you. This will be only a forum of rational AND compassionate discussion, meant to help us understand each other, and the world, instead of hiding or lashing out in fear.
This is also meant to help us all become mentally focused and emotionally open to helping others better their lives, even as we better our own. It doesn't take neverending riches or magic or all the time in the world. A simple gesture of giving a few bucks to a homeless man needing just a burger to make it through the day, or giving blankets and clothes to Goodwill or the Salvation Army, even just being a mentor and sounding board for a child in need of guidance, help the most. If we keep waiting for a caped crusader (sorry, Batman) to jump in and save the day, we're in deep trouble.
I'm hoping you will have some good ideas to contribute as far as this world's dealings go. The gap between rich and poor gets wider by the year. I personally feel very uncomfortable letting the world's wealth rest in the hands of a few detached aristocrats, who let people starve and die of diseases while they say, "Oh, I'd like to help but I'm just not sure what I could DO." No matter who or what we are, we CAN do something.
