LATEST HAUNTED HOUSE POSTING:
Hey! All my favorite Haunter's,
Wheew! We made it through our first week. We bumbled and bounced and played it all out! The ghouls screamed and the goblins growled and the wolf girl howled. We sweated and we worried and we had a good scream. It was tough at times and the kids that are doing this were real troopers and they made this work. Most of them are not memebers and some are literly working for food. I'm afraid that they are going to eat some small child after seven o'clock when they start starving. The zombies are thin and we need hotdogs and buns.
I will say that I really do need more adults participating as actors. I wanted this to be fun, but needs the depth to make it more real and professional. I didn't want this to be cheesy!
People tell people and if its not good then they won't come and thats literly what's happening! Our first weeks numbers are low, but with some tweaking and beefing up of scenes and filling in holes with better acting, this can be a real success. We have great props and a good story line and not everyone has a Barn. We even have room for another scene, if we had a few more actors. I originally had envisioned a family, or two, taking on a scene, or creating a monster / scarry character, or providing some props. Its just been tough getting you guy's to come out and play.
I need a chainsaw guy, really bad! Even just a chainsaw. I need a good witch and a scarry consort, If you have costuming and want to play a part, come out. I need you and some face painters too. Also, some fake chains and cuffs. Oh! Wait, thats on my home list, but I do need them now, really. We need to fix and repair a few scenes and add one if you've got the time and before Thursday. Come out tomorrow night, or call me - 880-2996.
I also need to get the word out and I need all of you to hand out and post flyers at the office, or shop, some buisinesses too. Some one call the Daily Press, or TV to get a story and our name out there. I will include the flyer as an attached file here. Please tell a friend and a family, or two. Every twenty people is a hundred in the bank and we have to spend twenty to cover cost. After expences we are probably $400 to the good and far below what we could earn. This is our money week and its only last for three more nights.
I want to say thank you to all of the actors, face painters, Beth and Carl, Deb and Mike and kids, Sherri and Kelvin, Paul and Cindy, Ann, Kim and Dani, also the rest of you guys. You know who you are. I was so worried that I wouldn't have anyone show up and you guys came through. Putting up props and getting the concessions together. I am still worried about Halloween night and need a good showing, as I might loose some of the teens and a few adults. Thats our money night and we would like to have a small party afterwards.
Our / your civic association, has only collected a half barrel of food for the food bank. If we were doing better I would say that above the money that Zach Colley has collected from the games, that we donate a $100. Lets work on this together, as we are advertising it.
I will be up at the Barn around six tomorrow and Tuesday. We have scenes to fix and costumes to gather. Theres still a few set up issues, but our plan is solid and if I get a few of you big monsters to come out and haunt our barn, then this will be a lot of fun!
Colony really is on the line here and we need the help and a few donations of this and that.
Thanks, George Colley - VP
