18-10-00: On the Road with the Bosstones: Minneapolis, MN

Nothing much to report, they had to leave right after the show to get to Chicago. Oh ya, Flogging Molly seemed to be cool. Maybe they were so drunk, they don't remember it.

17-10-00: On the Road with the Bosstones: St-Louis, MO

In the continuing saga of trouble making Sum 41, the guys have been accused of getting the bass player from Flogging Molly (one of the support acts on this tour) beat up at the show. Turns out that the boys did a bit of drinking with Flogging Molly after the show and both started smashing beer bottles in their change room. Security was alerted and came to the change room to confront them. As soon as Sum 41 saw security coming, they ran out of the room and left the club leaving only the bass player from Flogging Molly behind in a drunken stupor. I guess the bass player began lipping off to security when they confronted him and they ended up kicking the shit out of him. A couple of hours later, Sum 41 got a call from Flogging Molly's Tour Manager accusing them of getting their Bass Player beat up. Sum 41 just laughed and said that if the guy was stupid enough to stick around than he deserved it. It has been reported that this guy started the whole thing anyways.

Sound check at the next show is going to be interesting.

Stay tuned.

16-10-00: On the Road with the Bosstones: Columbia, Missouri

HIGHLIGHTS: Nothing really to report about. A great ratio of cd's sold to how many people were there to see them. They had to drive right after the show so no stories this time.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Friday Sept 22

LOCATION: Pomona, CA

HIGHLIGHTS: Played a really good show. The guys got invited to a party that night at a $7 Million mansion in the hills. Steve and Deryck managed to have a knife pulled on them by some out of control drunk dude all pumped up on steroids. It was a "roid rage" according to Deryck. No damage. All ended well.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Saturday Sept 23

LOCATION: Tempe, AZ

HIGHLIGHTS: This was supposed to be an after party but instead ended up being a last minute show that the promoter didn't bother promoting. Sum 41 was the only band. It was in sports bar where most of the patrons were there to watch ESPN on TV. Sum 41 played such a good show that all 40 patrons were at the front of the stage by the end of the set. Andy Sommers was there and couldn't stop talking about how magic it was and how great the band is. He was blown away! That's our boys!

SUM 41 Face to Face

Monday, Sept 25

LOCATION: Sacramento, CA

HIGHLIGHTS: Sum 41 were moved up to the second spot on the bill due to heavy radio play in Sacramento. Had a great show. Well received by all.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Tuesday, Sept 26

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

HIGHLIGHTS: The band said that it was the best show of the tour! Unfortunately, Deryck discovered that his luggage was missing when they loaded the van. Everything gone! Underwear donations are being accepted.

***hmmm Deryck always seems to lose his pants

SUM 41 Face to Face

Wednesday, Sept 27

LOCATION: Santa Cruz, CA

HIGHLIGHTS: Another spectacular show by the mighty Sum 41. They snuck some fellow canucks in who happened to be in Santa Cruz on a family vacation. Later that night, they had some fun with fire works. Supposedly they have found some grenade launcher type fire bombs (all legal). No fires to report of I think.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Thursday, Sept 28

LOCATION: Pamona, CA

HIGHLIGHTS: THE BAND JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER. Quote from fan, "Dave and his behind the head guitar move is the fuckin'shit..DOUBLE LIVE DAVE!!!"

Travis from Blink 182 come specifically to see the band but missed them. He hung out back stage with them for about an hour and a half. He is going to go see them tonight in Ventura. Also in attendance was Andy Sommers from Bandwagon, who was in full support. The last I heard, The Glass House wants to bring back Sum 41 for a headlining show. Things are definitely building for Sum 41.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Friday, Sept 29

LOCATION: Ventura, CA

HIGHLIGHTS: "The band went off" according to Simon Head their tour manager. "It was as good as the first show they played in Pamona!"

SUM 41 Face to Face

Saturday, Sept 30

LOCATION: Las Vegas, NV

HIGHLIGHTS: "First we were up $115 and then we were down $115 and then Cone tried to pick up a cocktail waitress and things got ugly. Steve figured out a way to rig a slot machine and there was rumour that Dave and Deryck tried to hire themselves out as male escorts. All in all, it was a typical Sum 41 night in Las Vegas.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Sunday, Oct 1

LOCATION: Backersfield, CA

HIGHLIGHTS: "Lame show, Lame club". Despite the low turn out, they still managed to sell 17 CD's. Meaning that almost half the people there who saw them bought a CD! How do you like them apples! One dude stood at the front of the stage giving them the finger the whole time until about the third last song. Suddenly he changed his mind and started slam dancing, totally converted and sold. Regardless, the band beat the shit out of him after the show just for pissing them off. Just Kidding.

GOOD NEWS! - The Arizona Police called and they have found Deryck's suitcase! Unbelievable! Our boy is back in business and smelling a bit better too.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Tuesday, Oct 2

LOCATION: San Jose, CA

HIGHLIGHTS: Do you know the way to San Jose? Ya, but let me tell you an even quicker way to get out of San Jose. Not much to report on here. Kind of an uneventful show. Band played awesome, crowd was really into it, just not a lot of people. Kind of a boring town, was the comment.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Wednesday, Oct 3

HIGHLIGHTS: Great little University Town. There was a line up when we got to the club and the band was recognized right away when we pulled up in the van. It was an awesome show. Big crown cheer when they broke into Make No Difference. Had to leave right after the show to start the 14 hour drive to Boise, so there are no shenanigans to report of.

SUM 41 Face to Face

Saturday, October 7

LOCATION: Seattle, WA

HIGHLIGHTS: The last show of the tour. Lots of hugs and kisses. Pretty low key show. Kind of a hard audience at first but had them eating out of their hands by the end.
