Jeff stood in front of the door and looked at it. He heard her soft sobs from inside. He slowly lifted his hand and knocked.

"I thought I said go away!" she yelled

"Can I come in?" he asked softly

"I guess so." she said. he walked over and sat down on the bed next to her.

"Matt really wants to talk to you. He says he’s sorry."

"He lied to me. He didn’t tell me the truth about anything. I doubt he even loves me." she said

"If he hadn’t loved you he wouldn’t have fought so hard to bring you here. He told me about you. He saw you in a club one night and thought you were cute. He didn’t think you’d give him the time of day. He kept talking about you for months. Two days ago he found you in a ditch. He brought you here and wouldn’t leave your side. He got so weak. We had to make him drink from the emergency supply. He decided that eternal life was better for you than death. He was already weak. He tore his wrist open and made you drink. He collapsed and I had to make him feed off of me. He does love you." Jeff said. Dru’s head raised and she looked Jeff in the eyes. She knew that she had to make things right with Matt but she didn’t know where he was.

"He’s in the tree house in the big oak tree by the lake." Jeff said. Dru got to her feet and kissed Jeff’s cheek. She thanked him for helping her to sort her thoughts. She headed off toward the tree house.
