"Did you sleep well?" he whispered in her ear. Desire ran through making her blood race through her veins.
"Yeah. Thanks for asking." she whispered back. His lips covered hers with a soft yet hungry passion that would leave her breathless. He beckoned her mouth to open and she complied letting his tongue enter her mouth. She was over taken by a wave of passion. Passion that she had never felt before. There was a knock at the door.
"Go away!" Matt yelled as he broke the kiss despite Dru’s protests.
"Nice try Matthew but I’m not leaving. You know... I don’t know why
you guys even bother to have rooms. You’d be better off with sleeping bags on the floor. There would be more closet space for Dru and I that way." Gabrielle stood there looking at them. She remembered how she would wake up in Edge’s arms when she had first come here. That was nearly four years ago.
"Did you come here to pick on me or did you actually need something Gabs?" Matt said as he settled Dru against his chest.
"I came to tell you that Jeff, Christian, Edge and I are going out to dinner tonight. You guys can either come with us or you can stay here all alone and get into who knows what kind of trouble." Matt smiled at the prospect of being all alone with Dru. There would be no interruptions like this one.
"Don’t we always go out for dinner?" Matt asked with a smirk
"Very funny Smart Ass! Dru I hope you can do more with him than I can. Hey... I’ve got some old ECW down stairs. You wanna come watch them with me?" He looked at Dru who nodded her approval. He bent down and kissed her.
"We’ll pick up here later." he said
"I won’t let you forget." she said. He got up and left the room. She lay there for a moment remembering how it felt to be in his arms. She breathed deeply and inhaled the air. It still smelled like him.
~No point in staying in bed all day.~ she thought. She got out of bed and headed for the shower. She let the water run over welcoming it’s warmth. She smiled sort of wickedly when she thought of all the things she could do with Matt in the shower. When she finished she headed for her room and rummaged through the closet. She decided on a crushed velvet halter top and some black leather pants. She finished off the outfit with some boots she found at the bottom of the closet. She headed down the steps.
Arriving in the kitchen seconds later she saw Jeff sitting there scribbling on a piece of paper. Strands of his rainbow hair spilled like a bright curtain covering his face. She grabbed a bowl of Frosted Shredded Mini Wheats and sat down at the table.
"Hey Jeff, Whatcha writing?" she said between mouthfuls
"Nothing. Just my poetry." he said He finished writing and looked up
at her. His eyes bugged out which made her laugh.
"What’s the matter Jeff? Never seen a girl eat cereal before?" she questioned teasingly
"Not dressed like that." he said
"Mind if I take a look at your poetry? I used to write a little myself." He shoved the paper toward her. She read the words and immediately sympathised with him.
"Wow! This is great." she said. She was greeted with the pen Jeff had been using.
"Show me what you’ve got." he said She looked cluelessly at the paper. Then she remembered what she considered to be her crowing achievement from high school. She scribbled like a madwoman.
The sky outside is dark and icky gray
No sun in sight for miles and miles at all
Here I sit in my chair and dream of May
And when my love will come for me and call
And when that day arrives I will rejoice
for love will be a new found friend to me
sunlight of gold will be my great new voice
and this is what I will plainly see
My love will be there waiting still for night
when we will join our hearts and make a set
with big hope of love that are so full of light
a million suns could have no more regret
Sitting here watching the rain fall down so fast
Silently hoping that my love will forever last
She sat the pen down and pushed the paper toward him. He read the words and smiled.
"Ah, a sonnet. Shakespeare would be proud" he said
"What wouldst thou write of me if thou shouldst praise me?" she retorted
"Did I hear Shakespeare?" Christian said as he got a cup of coffee and sat at the table with them.
"Dru’s over here writing sonnets and spouting Shakespeare like it was the most natural thing in the world." Jeff said
"For me it is. Shakespeare, Vampires and writing were my life." she said
"Sir would she give you so much of her lips as of her tongue she oft bestows on me you would have enough." Christian said
"You like Shakespeare?" Dru said in surprise at the way he was reciting Othello
"Damn! You got him started and now we’ll never get him to shut up." Edge said crossing the room to join them.
"Remember that when Gabby is in my bed tonight." Christian said
"Yeah, I guess she will be." Edge said
"Are you still getting your nipple pierced?" Jeff asked Edge
"Hell no. I mean I know I was seriously thinking about it and Gabrielle was thrilled and all but it just seems too fucking painful." he said
"I wonder if I could convince Matt to get his pierced." Dru said biting her lip
"Honey for you he'd be willing to jump off a bridge. He’s been trying to please you for months." Edge said
"Wait! I thought you said that he found me laying on the side of the road near death." The three men looked at each other. That was never supposed to be told. They were supposed to stick to the story. Dru felt tears well in her eyes.
"Did he find me on the street or not?" No one spoke up. Dru ran upstairs and slammed the door to her room. She buried her face in her pillows and cried trying to muffle her sobs. There was a soft knock on the door.
"Go away Matt! I don’t want to talk to you right now" she sobbed
"Dru please... I need to talk to you." Matt pleaded on the other side of the door.
"Just please go away." A few minutes later she heard his footsteps going down the hallway.
"She’s not talking to me." he announced at the top of the stairs. He sat down on the middle landing and looked at the four faces staring back at him.
"Maybe I could talk to her." Jeff offered
"Sure. Why don’t you give it a shot. I’ll do anything to get her talking to me again." Matt said obvious sadness in his voice.
