"How come you never take me hunting anymore?" He asked, mocking a pout. She turned around to face him.
"Because ,Gangrel, you're old. You don't need to feed every night. I do."
"I'm old?" He asked in playful shock. Kendell smiled slyly.
"Yea, you heard me." She responded turning back to the mirror, only to find his arms around her waist and his chin rested on her shoulder.
"But it has been so long since we've hunted together, Spider…"
"Tomorrow then, I promise." Kendell said reassuringly as if speaking to a small child. He nipped at her neck as she remained in front of the mirror for a second more, then turned to leave.
"Where are you going anyway?"
"The Tin Flute." He scoffed, but Kendell detected a nervousness within him.
"Why? That place is filled with yuppie scum."
"And I happen to like yuppie scum. Don't knock it til you've tried it." She paused to lick her lips. "They’ve all got a richness about them. You'd like it."
"Well can't you go somewhere else? Why not The Possessed?" Kendell arched her eyebrows in thought. Why did he care so much?
"God, Gangrel, I'm just feeding! And I'm getting hungry. I'm gonna leave, okay? I'll be back soon." She promised beginning to walk out the door, only to be stopped by a hand on her forearm.
"Spider…." He regarded her with rare seriousness. She clenched her jaw and pushed his arm away.
"I said I'll be back. Don't worry, I'll be careful." She added lightly. As Kendell was leaving, she couldn’t pick up his last whisper.
"They’re gonna find each other…"
A pale, long arm clothed in a black transparent sleeve reached over beside Kendell and the long fingers grabbed the drink. She caught, crawling up the arm, the inked legs of the spider, and could make out the ruby eyes on the thin veins of the wrist. Kendell snapped her hand out and caught the arm, sending the drink to the bar and spilling in a dark pool. Craning her head around, she stared into another females face.
"Who are you? Why do you have my spider? Where did you get it?" The other female scowled at Kendell's questioning.
"Your spider? I got this when I was turn - I mean when I came here. Its mine! Who the hell are you?" Kendell rose off the stool, pulling her to a dark corner.
"Listen to me, and don't you dare say a work. My maker gave me this, " Kendell bared her neck, "the night I was completed and I'm the only one who has it. Now who are you?" The other woman's eye's grew wide in shock.
"You're a - Your maker? You mean….who was he?"
"Gangrel…." Kendell answered slowly. "why, you now of him?"
"Of course I do…He made me…" Kendell's face drew up in a disgusted gaze.
"Bitch…you lying bitch, he killed all of his children!" She yelled, more out of desperation than rage.
"I'm not lying, he made me years ago. He marked me! He marks all of his children…"
"What?" Kendell returned. "He let go..he let all of his children go…." The woman shook her head.
"No! No, he didn't! That’s why I'm here! I need to find him again! He…he told you he killed us all?" Kendell shook her head violently, trying to push the thoughts out.
"You lie - How could you, you stupid disrespectful bitch!" With that, Kendell raised her hand and struck the woman, briefly drawing blood before the scratches closed and the blood was absorbed back into the skin.
"I'm not lying! I have nothing to gain, I don't know you but, I just want to see Gangrel!" Kendell had had enough, and she didn't even let the girl finish explaining before she turned and left the bar to go back home to Gangrel, and find answers.
