"Josh," she said as best she could.
"Don’t worry Kali, we’re going to get you help." He looked painfully at her face, swearing to himself that the thing that did this to her would wish he never touched his sister. He noticed that the right side of her face was starting to swell, and a trickle of blood ran out of the corner of her mouth. The neck of her shirt was stained red. He checked her neck. There were claw like marks on one side, and there were teeth marks on the other. Teeth marks much like the ones he and Christian gave to their victims. The neck of her shirt was slightly ripped, as if somebody had tried to pull it off. It may have been Kali, trying to find the wound. Then again it may have been some guy, trying to steal her innocense. Josh couldn’t tell. Kalika’s hands lay on her stomach. When Josh grabbed her hand, he felt a warm liquid coat his own hand. He brought his hand to the front of his face. Blood. She was bleeding from her abdomen. Somebody had stabbed her. ‘Christian! Edge! Guys! I’ve found her. Come here quick! I’m behind the club and down a few alleys..you’ll see me!" he called out silently to the troupe. Sooner thatn Josh thought, the five of them were there, kneeling around the girl.
"What happened here?" Matt asked.
"I don’t know," Josh informed them.
"Uh, Josh? Can I talk to you in private for a moment?" Christian asked.
"Can it wait?" Josh responded, wiping tears from his sister’s eye.
"No...it can’t." Josh got up and walked over out of earshot of the others. "Josh...I hate to tell you this, but your sister is going to die. She’s lost way to much blood for any medical doctor to help her. Even if we got the best medical team in the world, they still couldn’t save her. I’m sorry Josh."
"No." Josh shook his head. "Isn’t there anything we can do? I mean, you of all people would know about her condition, having been a surgeon and all, but.....isn’t there anything we can do?"
"Well...there is one thing. but I don’t think you’re going to want to do it."
"I’ll do anything, anything. Just please don’t let God take my sister away."
"We have to turn her Josh....it’s the only way." Josh nodded his head.
"Christian, Josh, you better get over here. She’s calling for you," Edge called. Josh was immediately at her side, holding her hand despite the blood and pushing her hair out of her face with his other hand. Christian knelt at her other side, holding her hand and doing the same.
"I..love you...Josh..and..Christian. Please....don’t...forget me....ever." Kalika struggled to get the words out.
Kalika’s hands went limp.
"NO!" Josh cried out. "Please God...no!" Josh bent over, picking his sister up and holding her close to him, gettig her blood all over his shirt, his pants, his whole self. He didn’t care. "Kalika," Josh said, crying at the same time. He looked at Christian. "Is it too late?"
"It might be, I don’t know. We can try," Christian assured him. "Just, Josh, turn the other way. Jeff, Matt, Gabby...go with him." They nodded. Josh handed Kalika over to Christian, who lay her on the floor before him. Josh and the three started to walk down the alley.
"Man, I’m sorry Josh," Matt said.
"Yeah, us too," chimed in Gabby and Jeff.
"She’s happy where she is. So if shes happy, then I’m happy. She’s with mom and dad, I’m sure of it. If tears could build a stairway, and memory a lane, I’d walk right up to heaven, and bring you home again, Kalika..." Josh whispered.
"Why bring me back when I’m not here," came a soft, almost angelic voice. Josh turned on his heels. His sister lay where she was originally. Her bright blue eyes were open, and her face was unswollen. She looked like the angel he knew she must be.
"Kalika?"
