"Na, I have no problem sleeping on the couch. As long as Kalika’s happy and comfortable, I’m happy." Gabby and Edge smirked as they looked at each other. "What?" Jeff asked.
"Oh, nothing," they replied. Jeff shrugged.
"Well, now that we have Kalika taken care of, we have Josh left."
"He can have my room," Edge offered. "It’s not like I actually sleep in there or anything."
"And where are you going to sleep?" Matt asked him.
"Umm...in my room like he usually does?" Gabby suggested.
"No. Josh’s my friend, so he can have my room. I’ll stay in my brother’s room," Christian stated.
"Don’t bother with me. I’ll just sleep on the floor in Jeff’s room. If Kalika wakes up alone in a strange house, she may get scared. I can’t leave her alone just yet." Matt nodded.
"Then everything is settled." Gabby climbed out of Edge’s lap. She poured two mugs of coffee and set them on the table, reclaiming her spot in Edge’s lap. Picking up her coffee, she started to sip it, staring straight at Jeff.
"Would you stop drinking the last of my coffee?" Josh looked at him and began to put his cup down.
"I’m sorry Jeff." Jeff looked as him.
"Not you Josh. I don’t care if you drink it. I know that you’ll tell me if you finish it, or at least offer to make more or something. That little vixen over there drinks my coffee, the very last of my coffee and then doesn’t bother to make more, nor tell me that she finished it!" Gabrielle laughed. Jeff shot her a look.
"Is that all, Starlite? Your little sleeping beauty is awake." Gabby motioned towards the stairs. "Why don’t you go put her back in bed and help her stop crying like a baby?" Both Jeff and Josh shot her an evil look and at that moment, she wanted to disappear into Edge’s arms and be gone.
"Shut up, you dirty little tramp," Jeff remarked as he headed to the top of the stairs where Kalika stood, holding onto the railing with one hand, Fate in the other. "What’s the matter Kalika?" Jeff asked. She looked up at him, tears streaking down her face.
"He came after me again," she told him in fear. "He tried to kill me again."
"Who?"
"Him," she reiterated.
"We won’t let him hurt you. I promise." He smoothed her hair back, flicking her pig-tails playfully. She looked up at him with a soft smile. Jeff scooped her up in his arms and carried her down to the kitchen where Josh gave her a cup of tea. Kalika snuggled in Jeff’s arms and sipped at her tea while everyone discussed their plans for the evening.
