Christian choked on his words, his tears blurred his vision, and he felt as though his body were giving out. It couldn’t be him. Edge was dead; he had died in the fire. Yet, there in front of him stood his brother. Christian whipped at his tears, wishing the image would go away, and leave him to his death. He looked up, his eyes terrified at the images in front of him.

"What’s the matter Christian?" Edge chuckled. "You didn’t think I was dead did you? Why so surprised?"

Christian swallowed hard, trying to form the words. "You’re alive…"

"Yea I am," Edge told him angrily, the words arguing their way out. "I got out of the fire, it was a hell of a time though. Lucky for me, Kael was walking by and drug me out."

Kael bowed teasingly to Christian, watching the horror on his face. "What can I say? I hate Edge, but I hate you more."

Christian’s body shook as he stepped towards Edge, tears streaming his face. "I’m so glad you’re alive. You have to get me out of here. This is all a mistake."

Edge stepped to face his brother. "You kidnapped my girlfriend, put her in Ravens care, erased her memories and made me think she was dead, then tried to kill me and make her fall in love with you. What part didn’t I get right?"

Christian felt enraged as he punched the bars in front of him. He knew this was the end, and knew he wasn’t getting out. "It’s not fair!" Christian yelled, his voice echoing in the sewer lines. "She was supposed to be with me. I loved her more that you ever could. It’s always been about you, ever since I can remember. You’re the one who had all the respect, all the girls and all the love. Why couldn’t it have been me? Just once why couldn’t it have been me?"

"Spare me the innocent routine," Edge told him angrily. "Everything your getting is all because of you. You’ll never know what it’s like to be loved. It ends here baby brother… for all of us."

"Do you even know what its like to be your brother?" Christian cried, his face burning from his hot tears. "Do you know what it’s like to live in your shadow? Gabrielle was starting to love me. It was finally going to be me."

"It would never be you!" Gabrielle told him, loathing in her voice. "It could never be you." She reached behind her neck and undid the clasp of her necklace. Christian cries became louder as he watched the necklace drop to her feet.

It was finally over, he knew it now. Nothing had worked the way he’d wanted. Gabrielle hated him more now than ever. He wanted morning to come. He wanted his death to come quickly. To take him out of this world which he was now beginning to hate. He was ready to die, he knew it. There was nothing to live for. And he would die knowing that for that one special moment in the house, Gabrielle loved him. He would remember that forever, even after his death.

He watched as the 4 of them left, knowing this would be the last time he’d ever see Gabrielle again. He huddled in the corner, gripping his knees to his chest as his tears soaked his face, knowing his fate was near, and wanting it.

Gabrielle returned just before sunrise, hiding in a nearby building as the sun shadowed over the streets, filling up the opening where they were trapped. Christians voice echoed the streets, her name getting louder and louder and she could feel in her heart all the pain Christian was going through at that moment. She whipped her tear as she rose from her chair. She was sad to see Christian go, to feel all his love for her and all his pain, but it was something she had to do.

She was hurting too much to let this go on and knew that if they hadn’t gone through with killing Christian and Raven, then everything would just continue.

She walked away from the window, taking another look outside before she turned to leave. She had to do something to cure all her pain, and although the end result was drastic, it was something that had to be done.

She smiled, pulling her hood over her head. She was going to be ok. It was tough but It was something for the pain.
