The newest jars of Manic Panic had been arranged in a pyramidal eye pleasing display, and Heather made a mental note to grab a jar of vampire red for Gabby before she closed up. She'd only had to deal with seven or so customers all afternoon, and boredom was taking its toll. The sun shone in between the backwards letters that spelled "Grenouille Noir" on the window. Stupid name for a store, really, but at least it no one understood it. A horde of young people walked by, brightly dressed, who looked into the store and laughed out loud. These were the people who wouldn't have even noticed the store stood if not for the reputation some members of the rather closed minded community had bestowed upon it in the first week. It was different, and different wasn't good. At least Heather knew a visit from Gabby would occur in the next few minutes, as high school seemed to be out for the day. New stock and a large discount by way of Heather was a wonderful way to draw her out to the store. But, along with her came Edge; Edge with his intense eyes and body heat she could feel from a room away, and a mind full of thoughts she was sure matched the tone of hers. He'd been over the entire weekend, either sitting on the couch with Gabrielle or in the chair with her in his lap. And by some twist of fate, Heather had the entire weekend off, doomed to sit and watch a man she was heavily attracted to, with her best friend.

A strange moment late Sunday night kept stewing in Heather's brain. When Gabrielle had half-jokingly asked Edge if he had a friend, or brother, for Heather, his eyes grew accusing for a moment, and he almost seemed like he was going to leap out of the chair before nervously laughing and replying casually that he'd see what he could do. There was just something wrong with his reaction, a shock at the mention of a sibling that struck her as odd.

The front window rattled as the door opened and the black frog with some sort of censor croaked the arrival of Gabrielle with Edge by her side. Gabrielle blinked at the change of lighting and careened immediately over to the fresh pile of Manic Panic with a suppressed squeal of delight.

"Yeah, hello to you too." Heather quipped, leaning against the glass display case. Gabrielle raised her hand in a half hearted greeting, content to browse through the brand new colours, a rainbow of possibilities. Edge stalked slowly over to Heather, and leaned against the glass case.

"I'll say hi." Heather rolled her eyes, a gesture to try and break up her uneasy feeling around him.

"Well thank you. That just makes it all better."

"It should!" He told her in a mock hurt voice. Heather sighed, patting him on the arm.

"It does, it does." Edge smiled, looking to Gabby, who had finished taking her personal inventory and walked quickly over to them, grabbing his arm away from Heather, pouting childishly.

"Mine."

"Geez, I don't want him!" She somewhat lied, putting her hands up.

"Good." Gabby wrapped her arms around his neck. "Cause he's mine."

"All yours." Edge agreed, " But if I was Heather's…I'd get discounts here, right?"

"You get discounts anyway! Cause heather's all nice and stuff."

"So I get discounts, and I don't have to sleep with her?" Heather raised her eyebrows.

"You can if you want…"

"Hey!" Gabby pouted, her arms growing automatically tighter. "I said he was mine."

"I know, I know. I'm joking, dumbass. I can do much better." She informed them, holding her head high in the air. The front window rattled again, and the black frog croaked as a visitor interrupted them. Gabby casually turned her head to see who it was, while Heather chirped a well-practised greeting. But Edge's face went pallid in an instant, all while Christian stood smirking in the doorway.
