Sunlight glistened on the still water. A bird sang in the bulrushes. Dani stirred, slowly opening her eyes and stretching. Beside her, Jeff rolled over and wrapped his arms around her. Dani smiled and turned to him, noticing their lack of clothes, but not caring.

"It’s over?"

"It’s over."

"Now what?"

"Now we go on with our life. Our life together."

"How? We’re so different now."

"Not so much different. We can continue our normal lives for the most part. We’ll just have to move out to the country somewhere. Raise some cattle, some pigs. We’ll be ok."

"Move where?"

"How about here. This land is for sale. We can build a little house over there." He pointed to a hill on the far side of the pond.

"Really? We can? Here?"

"Sure, why not? It’ll be perfect. The place I claimed you as mine, and you claimed me back." He kissed her neck.

"Yeah, perfect." Dani stood and went to the pond. "How about a quick swim?"

Jeff admired her naked body as she dove into the clear water. He soon joined her and the two were lost in a world of their own again.
