"What am I going to do? I have to think. Where can I take her? How can I get her out of this trance? Think Jeff, think!!" Then it struck him. The barn. He had claimed her there as his own at the pond. He could take her there, make her remember. He turned the motorcycle sharply. At breakneck speeds, he rounded corners and finally made the turn off and headed to the pond. As they pulled up, he shut off the engine and coasted to a stop. Using his night senses, he could tell they were alone. He dragged Dani to the pond, and lay her in the sand. He straddled her limp body, and stared deep into her unseeing eyes. "Danielle, honey, listen to me. You’ve got to snap out of this. I can’t fight them on my own. You have to help me. Remember Dani. Remember us. Remember our first kiss." He leaned over and kissed her cool lips. She did not return the kiss. "Damn it Dani!" Frustrated, he jumped up and ran to the edge of the pond. He cupped the cool water in his hands and ran back to her side. "Sorry, babe, I don’t know what else to do." He splashed the water in her face. Dani blinked, startled, but returned to her previous state. "Argh!" Jeff exclaimed! He then took her in his arms and carried her to the pond. Slowly, he waded in until the water reached his waist. "Come on baby, come on," he said as he eased her into the water. Soon he had her submerged completely. "Please work, please work," he begged. Time stood still as he looked through the clear water into her open eyes. Suddenly, she jerked and blinked. She reached up and grabbed Jeff by the neck, pulling herself out of the water. Gasping for breath and coughing, she tried to get her bearings.

"What’s going on? Where am I?"

"Dani, oh, Dani! I thought I had lost you. Thank God! You’re back, you’re ok!"

"Jeff? What, where? How did we get here?" She gasped, then said frightened, "Where are Matt and the others?"

"Dani, how did they get you? What happened? I told you not to open your door to anyone!"

"I’m so sorry! I felt so trapped there. I had to get out. I thought Tony’s would be safe since we had met there before and there would be others around. But they found me there. They took me from there. Took me to… I don’t know where, a large house. And…. Oh, God, Jeff, I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened, or how, but they, they…" She began to sob, "Jeff, they took me. Physically I mean. I swear Jeff, it wasn’t like me. I wasn’t myself. They had some power over me. I couldn’t help myself. I had to do what they wanted. Jeff, I never would have done this, to you, to us…"

Jeff kissed her and held her sobbing body in his arms, "It’s ok Dani, I know, I know."
