"Yes." She whispered. Without a word, he rose and she followed him out of the room, through the back, and out the door.

He opened the door of the rental car for her when they were in the parking lot. He drove to the hotel, absently singing along with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers song on the radio, blaring through the speakers. Once parked, he took her hand and they walked through the parking garage and lobby without a word, until they were in the elevator.

"Would you be upset if I kissed you again?" she looked at him and smiled.

"I'd be more upset if you didn’t…" she trailed off as he moved closer, and cupped her face in his hands. She closed her eyes as she felt his breath mingling with hers, his face looming millimetres away, until she felt his lips caress hers. She returned the kiss with as much passion as he had given her, her hands entwining themselves in his hair. Chris' hands slipped down around her waist, pulling her closer. They were both lost in the kiss and the embrace when the elevator stopped at their floor. Breathless, he pulled away hesitantly and took her hand again, leading her out of the elevator to the room.

He paused at the door, searching through his pockets for the keycard, while she watching, hoping he found it soon. With success, he pulled it out and opened the door, gesturing for her to go in first. Behind her, he flicked on the light, and took in her figure, clad in dark red leather pants, and a black tank top. She spun around to face him.

"So, what movie are we gonna order?" He asked, moving towards the couch and flicking on the TV.

"Is that still the plan?" she asked, teasingly, standing beside him.

"I suppose not." He mumbled, leaning in to kiss her, instead nuzzling her neck, then gently pushing her down to the couch. She bit her lip as he stared down at her then swore softly.

"What?" Claudia asked, sitting up.

"This is not what I want. Why the fuck do I always do this?" Chris sat down on the couch beside her, and rested his head in his hands.

"What do you always do? Did I do something?" Claudia asked, confused. Chris' head darted up.

"Its not you. I just always see someone I like, and then it turns into just sex. Do you know how many times I've fucked girls on couches, only to never hear from them again? And with you, I thought it would be different, but I always fuck it up. I saw you and I didn't want you to be another fuck on the couch in a hotel room, and you won't be, because I stopped it."

"But, Chris, maybe I wanted this." He just sighed.

"But I don't." He looked at her, and continued. "I guess you just don’t understand. But when I saw you in the bar, I was attracted, and not just physically. There was something, but I just couldn't figure it out."

"what, you mean like we're soulmates or something?" Claudia asked, raising her eyebrows. Chris shrugged.

"I don't know. Could be. Maybe that's why I don’t wanna screw this up." He lowered his eyes. "Or did I do just that?"

"Not really. Though I am not sure how to react, you being with so many other chicks. I do admire your honesty. I just don't know how to deal with it." She drew her knees up to her chest, and sat, staring at him.
