"What in the hell happened to you?"
She pinned him down, straddling his chest wildly, the grin never leaving her face. "I did it Kael," she muttered softly. "I killed Christian."
Edge paced his living room nervously, taking a quick peek out the window. He could see the sky turning a bright shade of orange, telling him that the sun would be out shortly. Edge was getting more worried by the minute.
"Something isn’t right." Edge told Gabrielle as he passed the couch where she was siting. "He shoulda been home by now. Where is he?"
Gabrielle got up, placing her arms around Edges waist. "He told me earlier that he was going to the Blackout. He’s probably still there."
Edge broke free from her grasp and continued pacing the room. "But he knows they’re evil out there. I warned him!" He took a deep breath, running his hands through his long flowing hair. "The sun will be fully out in less than an hour, and he’s somewhere out there. Christians never had been out this late, so he doesn’t know what to expect. If he’s still out there when the sun comes out then…" he stopped his words in mid sentence, not wanting to hear them come out of his mouth at all. Instead he grabbed his jacket, heading for the front door, calling out to Gabrielle over his shoulder. "I’ll be back as soon as I can."
"Edge where are you going?" Gabrielle called, running up behind him. He turned around to face her, grabbing his keys off the hook next to the door. "If Christians out there, I have to go find him." Edge pulled the collar of his jacket up over his head, shielding his face from the light as he opened the door. "I’ll be back when I find him."
Christian moaned softly, trying to open his eyes …so heavy. Where was he? How did he get there? And why was his head pounding so hard? He didn’t know. Christian tried to move, but found his hands bound together over his head, tied to a rusty water pipe.
He could tell he was outside, because he could feel the soft breeze would rip by his face every once in a while. Christian was in the farthest corner of the alley, by the trash cans and old newspapers. The sun had already come out and was slowly heading his way. It was only a matter of time before the sun would completely engulf the rest of the alley. He could feel hot sensations starting to overcome him as he slowly started to wake, stirring more to get free.
Edge pulled up to the Blackout, jumping off his bike. He pulled a blanket off the holster on his motorcycle seat and placed it over his head, taking off his helmet. He cupped his hand around his eyes, stepping up to the tinted window, looking inside. The Blackout had closed a few hours ago and there was no one inside. Where could Christian be then? Where could he have gone?
Christian’s eyes slowly began to open. He took a look at his surroundings. How did he get there? What happened last night? He couldn’t remember anything. His head pounded viciously as he looked up to his bound wrists trying to get free, not noticing that the sun had reached him, inching it’s way up his body.
Edge took a look around. There was no clue of where Christian was or where he’d gone. "Christian!" he called out loudly. "Christian where are you?"
Christian could feel the heat start to overtake him as the sun crept up his body. He looked down in time to see the last of the suns power creeping up his chest before hitting his face. He let out a loud torturing scream. The sun was burning his flesh from the inside out and he could feel the burning sensations begin to completely over take him.
Edge heard the yells in the distance. The unforgettable screams of torture, and knew it was Christian. "Christian where are you?"
"EDGE!" Christian yelled tugging on the frayed ropes. "Edge I’m over here."
Edge ran into the alley, finding Christian in the corner tied to the water pipes, physically being burned to death. Christians cries engulfed Edges head as he placed the blanket over his little brother, shielding him from the sun, and pulled his jacket over his own head. ‘Who could have done this to him?’ Edge thought to himself as he ripped Christian free with a strong yank. He picked up Christian’s limp body, helping his out to his motorcycle.
Edge rapidly filled up a large bowl with water, bringing it to Gabrielle. She knelt down over Christian’s body. He began fidgeting around the couch as Gabrielle placed a cold washcloth over his forehead. The pain was too unbearable. She ran the cloth over the red marks on his face, catching a gleam of sadness in his eyes. He brought his hands up to Gabrielle’s pulling the cloth down to his neck, his hands covered in fresh scabs and rope burns.
"I told him to be careful," Edge muttered to Gabrielle, watching his brother wincing in pain.
Gabrielle looked up, giving Edge a remorseful glance. "Not now Edge."
Edge looked down at the bowl of water. The bright red water. The water darkening everytime Gabrielle rinsed out the washcloth. He would find out what was going on. If not for his own piece of mind, then for revenge on what happened to his brother.
