"Patience is key…" he mumbled to her glancing quickly at his watch. 10:04pm. ‘Kael must have caught Gabrielle by now,’ Raven thought to himself focusing his attention back across the street. He peered at Kendall, nodding menacingly as they both headed across the street, to Edge’s house.
Edge was inside, flipping through channels when he felt a dark presence come over him. He felt the feelings of death, and sadness, and this time. It was stronger than ever. Almost as if it were inside him.
He reluctantly got up, edging himself towards the window. He had just barely gotten there when a sharp wooden arrow sailed past his face, sinking into the wall behind him. Edge ducked for cover as the shattering window exploded into thousands of tiny shards, flying everywhere.
Christian, awoken by the noise was now racing upstairs, calling frantically for his brother.
"Christian stay back!" Edge called out to him when he saw a weakened Christian appear in the doorway.
"Edge, what’s going on?" Christian called out worriedly as Edge scurried behind the couch, racing to protect his brother as the rest of the window exploded around them.
Edge shielded Christian’s face from the flying glass as he looked up towards the window, seeing something he thought he’d never see again. There standing before him, was the one who they thought they had all killed. The mere meaning of the word evil. There worst enemy in the world. It was Raven.
Kael paced impatiently around Gabrielle tied up body as she began to come too. He pulled a stool up next to her chair as she opened her eyes, moaning softly at the throbbing pain on the side of her head. "What am I doing here?" she muttered softly, the blurry vision of Kael starting to come into place. Kael clapped his hands together happily. "So Gabs is FINALLY awake." He joked.
Gabrielle pushed away the throbbing pain, watching Kael get up to get a drink.
"Why am I here?" she asked again.
Kael took a swig from his whiskey bottle, bringing it over to where Gabrielle was, sitting back down on the stool. "For my amusement maybe?" Gabrielle had told Edge that she wouldn’t have been long. When Edge realized what was going on, she was sure that Kaels would be the first place he checked. Edge would find her and bring her home, then she’d be safe. But what if he had Edge too? Then what?
"Where’s Edge?" Gabrielle managed to choke out before Kael got up, pacing the room. "Don’t you worry about Edge. Soon, this will all be over."
Raven stood at the shattered window frame, gripping the crossbow in his hands tighter as he slowly walked closer to them. The sound of the shattered glass under Ravens boots filled the dead silence as Raven stood over them, looking down. "Raven?" Edge muttered in shock, looking up at the vision in front of him.
"In the flesh," Raven glowed laughing softly. "Well so to speak."
"I thought you were dead," Christian broke out, edging away. "We killed you."
Raven paced the room, never taking his eyes off them. "Oh you did?" he laughed.
"Isn’t this fun? We’re all together again."
"What do you want?" Edge gritted at him, slowly getting up, careful not to make any sudden moves.
Raven pointed his crossbow towards Edge, teasingly playing with the trigger.
"That’s simple. Revenge for my brothers death, and I intend to get it."
Edge pushed Christian out of the way as Raven unloaded his crossbow towards Edge. Christian stumbled to the front door. If he could get outside, he could get help. Christian had just barely reached the door when it wildly flung open, Kendall racing inside with a crossbow of her own.
Gabrielle struggled in her chair, trying to get the tight ropes looser around her body or at least loose enough that she could try to wiggle free. Kael looked up from the refrigerator, laughing smugly. "You can squirm all you want. You’re not getting loose."
Gabrielle moaned frustratedly, giving up trying to get loose. "How long are you going to keep me here?"
Kael slammed the refrigerator door closed, coming into the living room to join her. "Just till my love is done with your long haired pretty boy," he joked. "Shouldn’t be too much longer."
"What’s she doing to Edge?" Gabrielle asked quickly trying to get Kaels attention. "What’s going on?"
"What in the bloody hell do you think is going on?" Kael yelled, quieting her down. "Its sweet revenge."
Were they really gonna kill Edge and Christian? And what about after that? Of course they would kill her too? She would never see Edge again. Gabrielle looked at Kael, trying to find some shred of dignity in him. Once, a long time ago, Kael and Edge had been friends. Why now did Kael hate him so much that he would want to kill him? Maybe he was doing it for Kendall, but why would she want to kill Edge or Christian? She didn’t even know them.
Kael looked at her, sadness coming over her face. "Oh don’t give me that look. Nothings happened yet." He told her grabbing the arms of the chair she was sitting in, making her face him. "In a short while they’ll be by here to pick me up, then the real fun will begin. It will be my pleasure killing your boyfriend and his pubescent brother." He laughed devilishly at her. "Hang on Gabbs, it’s going to be a bumpy ride."
She looked away, not wanting him to see how scared he was truly making her. He let go of her chair viciously and headed back to his couch, picking up a playboy to entertain himself till Kendall and Raven got there.
Gabrielle turned her head around as far as it could go, trying to catch a glimpse of Kael sitting on the couch behind her. "Them?" she asked softly, hoping that Kael would come back. "You mean Spider and …Raven?" Kael looked up from his playboy, rolling his eyes, already getting fed up with her. "You catch on quick don’t you? Of course Spider and Raven." Gabrielle struggled with the tight ropes again, trying to find a comfortable position as she tried to turn to Kael again. "Edge told me he was back…" "Nothing gets by you now does it?" Kael asked sarcastically, never taking his eyes off the centerfold in his hands.
"But why kill Edge and Christian? I mean what would that solve?" "Its called revenge oh young one," Kael replied, turning the pages. "They killed Raven’s brother, so not, in turn, they’ll kill him." Kael looked at his watch. 10:20pm. Kael furrowed his eyebrows, not understanding. "Hmm, I thought they would’ve been here by now." He put down his playboy, and went to his kitchen counter, picking up his cell phone. He dialed Kendalls place but after the 4th ring, he hung up. He looked at Gabrielle, who was staring back at him. "They must be on their way."
