Kendall pulled aside the gate to her home, bounding in happily. "I did it Raven," she told him excitedly. "I killed him."

Raven turned to her, scowling ferociously as he threw down his cigarette. "He’s still alive!" The children playing around him looked up, scared as to what was going on. "Leave us," he ordered, lighting his last cigarette. The children got up quickly, racing for their rooms before feeling Ravens wrath. Kendall couldn’t understand. She left him there, tied up. No one could have found him before morning. He had to have died. No one knew he was there. "But Raven…" she muttered. "How? The daylight should have killed him." "Yes it should have," he agreed sitting down. "But he didn’t die. His brother found him in the process."

"So what now?"

He let out a thick breath of smoke before speaking. "We go their now. I want to see what’s happening."

They stood there in the darkness outside Edges house. In the same spot where Raven had taken her before. The darkness cascaded over them and Kendall knew they were safe there. No one would see them.

Gabrielle sat at the end of Christian’s bed, watching him. He had quieted down some and most of the swelling had gone away. Christian lay there motionless; somehow it felt a lot better than any sort of movement. He caught Gabrielle’s eyes starring at him and smiled.

His brother Edge stood over his bedside, watching his reaction. "Christian what happened out there?"

Christian thought for a moment, moaning as he tried to comfortably adjust himself. He thought back to the night before, trying to replay it all in his head. "I don’t know," he told them honestly. "All I remember is going to the Blackout, that’s all…everything after that is a blur."

"Well did you see anything?…anyone?" he pestered. "No Edge, I told you…" Christian said a little louder. "I don’t remember anything."

Gabrielle got up, pulling Edge towards the door. "Come on," she whispered. "He’s had a long day, he needs his rest."

Edge reluctantly followed Gabrielle towards the living room, closing Christians light and door behind him, leaving him to rest. Gabrielle sat next to edge on the couch, leaning on his strong chest as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Edge it’ll be ok," she soothed. "Christians gonna be just fine." Edge thought about the day’s passings. He had almost lost his brother a short time ago, and who knows what else could’ve happened. He took a deep breath, holding Gabrielle when he felt a sharp pain in his back. He got up slightly, digging his hand into the couch cushions, pulling out what he had found. He looked down at what was in his hand. A dried up old piece of wood. He shrugged it off tossing it on the coffee table next to them.

Gabrielle looked at the sharp hunk of wood. "What the hell is that?" "I don’t know," Edge told her placing his lips on her forehead. "It was in the couch."

"Hmm, That’s funny cause I cleaned the morning Kael came over and didn’t see anything." Gabrielle shrugged, nestling closer to him.

‘The morning Kael came over,’ Edge repeated in his head. All this had started when Kael came back. The feelings, the darkness and now this that happened to Christian. Kael could not be trusted and would stab his best friend in the back for a drop of blood. Edge knew one thing for sure. If Kael wasn’t to blame for all this, somehow, he was involved.

Raven opened his eyes, turning to Kendall. He watched her; her eyes fixed on Christian’s window. "Don’t have remorse for him Kendall," Raven whispered into her ear. "He doesn’t deserve any of it."

From what she could see, she could tell that Christian had been badly burned. She could see the welts and red tares of flesh on his face and upper chest. A strong feeling of sorrow came over Christian as he turned in his bed, facing the window. Kendall stepped out of the darkness, watching Christian. He smiled, catching her glance. ‘Why was she there?’ Christian thought to himself as she stepped back into Ravens darkness. ‘And why was she there?’ She looked really familiar to him, not because she had been in his house with Kael a few days before, but from somewhere else. He just couldn’t pinpoint where from.

Kael was in his living room, flipping through a magazine when Edge came up behind him. Kael looked up, frowning. "Oh what do you want?" Edge leaned on the doorframe, watching Kael’s reaction towards him, before he walked in, slamming the door behind him.

"Oh do come in," Kael said sarcastically.

Edge slowly paced the room, running his hands through his long blond hair, before stopping in front of Kael. "What happened to Raven after he died?" Kael tossed his magazine down. He crossed his arms across his chest, facing Edge.

"Why whatever do you mean?" Kael innocently asked. "After Raven died," Edge said again. "What happened to him? You were there…" Kael laughed, cutting him off. "You were a nieve one, weren’t you?" Kael laughed again, grabbing another magazine next to him, riffling through it. "If you actually believe that actually happened, you really were stupid." Edge stopped in his tracks, realizing what Kael was telling him. He ran his fingers through his hair again, thinking frustratedly. "He’s not…" he muttered to himself. "He’s not dead?"

"Of course he’s not bloody dead," Kael told him loudly. "Well he’s dead, but he’s not ‘poof’ dead… well you know what I mean."

"Where is he?" Edge asked quickly, cutting him off. "Is he back?" Kael looked up innocently at Edge and frowned childishly. "Why Edge, I honestly don’t know."

Edge furiously grabbed Kael by the collar of his shirt, crashing him against the wall. He had been tired of all of Kaels games and was looking for answers. "Listen to me, If you know where he is, I want to know… NOW!" Edge yelled through gritted teeth.

Kael rolled his eyes, snickering at Edge. "Why Edge, I honestly don’t know." Kael calmly told him.

Many thoughts ran through Edge’s head. The war that killed off many of his friends and family. The blood. Raven dying at his feet. He had to be dead. Everyone made sure he was.

Edge shook away his memories, looking back up at Kael.

Kael smiled smugly back at Edge. "Though I probably am lying, aren’t I?" He reluctantly let go of Kael. He went to go sit on the couch, finding himself very week as if he were going to pass out. "I can’t believe this?" Edge whispered to himself, taking a deep breath. "I can’t believe I didn’t know he was still alive."

"Oh buck up old boy." Kael chimed in, sitting next to him. "Chin up. You weren’t the only stupid one."

Edge turned to him. "But how can this be? We killed him. I saw it. I was there." Kael laughed, getting up to grab a scotch bottle that had been sitting on his counter top. He sat back down next to Edge, opening it. "You saw what we allowed you to see, nothing more." He took a quick sip and continued. "Although Raven was pretty hurt, his brother was able to save him. He gave Raven practically all his blood, and that was just enough to save him, barely. And that’s when…" "We killed him," Edge trailed off, just now realizing it all. Kael took another sip, draping one arm around Edge’s shoulder. "And if I were you, I’d be ready. Raven is after revenge and either way he’s gonna get it." Kael smiled coyly. "Want a drink?"
