There's a reason so well hidden…why I was torn apart from you…like a song I've never written…or a joke without a clue…no I don't want to close my eyes and think of you…how I'd like to get you back but he won't let me…how I'd like to sing the songs we knew by heart…farewell sounds really cheap for pain you left me…and its growing mushrooms in my heart…no I don't want to close my eyes and think of you…I want to try to get some sleep…but its hard can't take the lead…I'm gonna try and get some sleep…I'm gonna try to get some sleep…join the great subconscious club…I'm gonna try to get some sleep…but I'm afraid to wake up…do you realise I don't know what to do…did you became just an idea…are you still you…

- Try to Get Some Sleep par K's Choice

Gabrielle sighed deeply as she closed the door, and ignored the feeling of a burden being lifted. She found herself ascending the stairs, and didn't know her destination until she arrived at Christian's door. Not knocking, she walked in slowly and stood before his bed watching him in his slumber. Even then, a few small lines of worry marred his face. Gabrielle frowned. It was worry for her. Without thinking, she crawled under his sheets and pressed herself close to his body. Christian woke up and instinctively held her closer and tighter then he ever remembered before. Then he realised it was really Gabrielle, it wasn't his mind. Letting a small surprised sigh escape his lips, he started to question her, but stopped himself. He questioned too much in his life, and this was a blessing. Gabrielle was in his arms again, and he was determined to let her stay there for as long as she wanted.

When the sun had disappeared into the blackness of the sky, Edge walked out of his room, and noticed the door to Gabrielle's was open for the first time in a week. Narrowing his eyes in concentration, he searched the house for her presence and found it in his brother's room. Clenching his jaw, he stood in front of Christian's room, readying himself to enter loudly, and disturb the couple, until he thought of the uselessness of the act. It had been weeks since Gabrielle had had Christians comfort and Edge remembered how much it had always meant to her. As Edge walked away he decided he would let her choose and be happy with whatever came out of it. Sitting in the kitchen, he noticed the piece of paper that lay on the table, and the long messy scrawled script that belonged to Kael. Edge read the words with a small smile, knowing they were already true.

As you already have noticed, I'm gone. I left because Gabrielle had it hard enough with just the two of you before I came in and screwed it all up. But I have to ask you this. Let her choose. Its her life, and while it may involve the both of you, its up to her who she chooses to fuck, and who she wants to spend her eternity with. She's also fine now, health wise and mentally. I made sure of that before I left. Don't make it any harder on her than it already is, or feel the wrath of me, if I can stumble my way back. Tell her I love her forever and take care of her for me. Sorry for the missing bottle of whatever I ended up taking.

Kael.
