"Five?" he asked.
"Yeah....the reindeer get hungry too."
"That’s why we leave them carrots..." Lily fell back in the hay pile alone, lying on her back.
"I don't have any carrots...and I thought Santa liked cookies." Gabby sighed, starting to explain.
"We leave cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer."
"So how many cookies do we leave?"
"4. And 9 carrots."
"Okay." Jeff fell down beside her in the hay.
"Sound good?" She nodded, yawning and stretching.
"Lily, you're not tired already..."
"No...just lack of oxygen to my brain." Jeff smirked.
"That’s what they all say."
"Hey....why would I be tired? I did like..nothing tiring today."
"Yeah, but what about last night?" Lily folded her hands on her stomach.
"I plead the fifth."
"You can't plead the fifth in the presence of a Canadian," Gabby called over.
"Well why not?"
"Cause...umm..." She sighed. "I dunno." She sighed again. "I still want details," she said mentally.
"I know you do...wait till he goes to sleep....if he ever falls asleep," she replied mentally. "Alright Jeff....were you tired last night?"
"Of course I was. Well, after..."
"There's your answer then. Obviously I was tired....I took a nap, remember?"
"Yeah, I remember. Of course I remember. i watched you the whole time." Lily nodded and snuggled. Matt arranged everything under the tree neatly. Gabby got up and pulled Matt back.
"Stop being a neat freak." Matt laughed.
"Your wish is my command." Lily fed a cookie to Jeff.
"Whoa...that was too easy."
"It's the holidays...I have to be nice."
"Yeah, but you're nice all the time."
"Alright...I have to be obediant now that it's the holidays?" he suggested.
"Obediant..good word...goes kinda well with the...umm. Nevermind."
"I'll pretend I didn't hear that."
‘So what happens now?" Lily asked.
"Umm...I don't know."
"Oh...that's always a good thing." She proped herself up on her elbows beside Jeff. "What happens now?" she asked Jeff.
"Well, what do you wanna do?"
"Why do you think I asked you?"
"Because you didn't know?"
"Exactly....I think. You're making my brain hurt," she admitted. Jeff rubbed Lily's head. She smiled.
"Matt, what do you wanna do?" Gabby asked.
"Your call...." Gabby sighed.
"Everyone leaves stuff up to me."
"Alright alright...let me think a minute."
"Need help thinking?"
"Yes I do," he said. Gabby smiled, standing behind him and massaging his shoulders.
"Think." Matt smiled and relaxed.
"I'm thinking. A game perhaps?"
"Like?" Jeff asked.
"Twister?"
"No....not Twister," Lily begged. Matt smirked.
"But I thought you could kick anyone's ass in Twister," he bated.
"She's right. Not Twister."
"Under all normal circumstances...I could. I've already kicked your ass in it. But given the circumstances, no Twister. Right Jeff? Remember me kicking his butt?" Jeff nodded, laughing.
"You so kicked his butt."
"Right foot green....and then Matt hit the floor." Gabby wrapped her arms around Matt's neck from behind.
"Poor Mattie."
"But it was his own fault...he cheated and still lost." Gabby pulled back.
"You cheated?"
"I did not," he defended.
"You did too! You twisted your foot around mine, and tried to tie me up in a knot so that I would fall. But I got out of it and then you fell. Remember Jeff?"
"No Lily....that was Jeff," Matt complained. Jeff threw his hands in the air.
"I don't knoooow."
"You did it too....I kicked his butt in Twister too."
"Whatever. What shall we play?" Matt asked.
"I dunno....I suck at it."
"I don't know...ask Jeff...he hasn't made any decisions in a looong time."
"As long as everyone promises not to cheat," Jeff said. Lily looked up at him with big blue eyes.
"When have I ever cheated love?"
"I never said you did. But you have to promise not to."
"I promise."
"Me too," Matt promised.
"Do I hafta?" Matt nodded. "But I don't play well with others..." she whined.
"Yes you do..." She shook her head. Lily lay back down in the hay and snuggled in the hay with Jeff, sighing. "Gabby....just promise...it's only for this one game..."
"Well..I've never really played this before though..."
"He still hasn't told us what we're going to play."
"I thought it was twister?"
"No....we said no to that...because I can't play," Lily said.
"Oh. Well in that case, I'll play fair," Gabby announced.
"I’ll be the spinner person," Lily announced. She poofed up a twister board.
"Wait....I thought...." Lily poofed Away the board.
"What?" she asked.
"We weren't gonna play twister."
"Jeffie....what exactly are we playing?" He thought for a moment. He continued to think, but to no avail. Lily played with his hair while he thought, thinking herself of a game to play. Jeff sighed.
"I dunno."
"Well....what does everyone feel like playing?"
"I don't care....we already played truth or dare...." Matt said.
"Chrades?" Lily suggested.
"I wanna play...Yeah! Charades...I think..." Gabby cried.
"Jeffie?"
"Better than what I could think of."
"What are the teams going to be?" Lily asked.
"Girls against boys? Or couple vs couple?" Gabby pondered.
"Hey..I came up with the game...you guys decide," Lily announced.
"We should go couple against couple....cause we all know that if it were Jeff and I vs you two, we'd win for sure," Matt boasted. Gabby slapped the back of his head lightly.
"Says you."
"Um...if I agree will I get beaten?" Jeff asked. Lily frowned and cast her eyes to the floor.
"Why would you get beaten? Jokingly around I might hit you..but I wouldn't beat you..." Lily said softly.
"I know. I was joking."
"Yeah I know." She played with some hay while they decided amongst themselves what to do. Jeff moved to sit in front of her, tilting her chin up.
"Hey, why so quiet now?"
"It's nothing."
"It’s not nothing. I was joking...."
"I know you were. I'm just waiting for you guys to decide on what to do, that's all."
"Couples....we're gonna do couples, kay Lily?" Lily nodded. "We go first."
"Alright...shall we act first...or guess first?" Matt asked.
"Act?" Lily rested her head on her hands and watched.
"What should we do?" Matt whispered.
"Something they won't guess."
"No, you think?"
"Well..umm...I don't know..maybe this is a bad game."
"We give up...this is a bad game," Matt announced.
"Yeah....we give up." Jeff laughed.
"You guys suck." Lily noded in agreement.
"Hey....I do no....I mean...we do not." Gabby smirked.
"Well, not yet we don't..." Matt sat down in the hay, pulling Gabby down with him.
"Now what?"
"Umm...we can...go see a movie?" Gabby asked.
"What movie?" Lily held a hay object in her hands, looking down at it. Jeff looked down, pointing at the thing.
"Whats that?"
"A doll." She handed it to him. Jeff smiled, kissing her forehead.
"Thanks. It’s cute." She smiled.
"Yet another useless talent I harbor. Among many." She picked little bits of hay out of Jeff's hair. Gabby sighed.
"What movie do you guys wanna see?" Lily poked Jeff.
"What do you want to see?"
"Something....scary," Matt decided. Jeff agreed. "What scary movies are out now Gabby?" Lily fed another cookie to Jeff.
"We can poof up an old one to go see."
"Scary movies isn't my department....this one is solely up to you three," Lily said.
"Psycho..." Matt suggested.
"The orginal? Thats not scary, you chicken. I say Evil Dead 2," Gabby decided.
"That was a good one."
"Hell Matt, it even scares me," Gabby said.
"But we don't want to scary Lily so bad she won't be able to sleep for a year."
"I can help her hide during the scary parts."
"Almost the whole thing was scary," Matt reminded him. Jeff grinned.
"So?" Lily snuggled with Jeff.
"So what are we going to...umm...not see?" Lily asked. Gabby shook her head.
"We're not gonna see Psycho. Alright, what about...Scream?"
"I saw Scream 2...with Mickey."
"Is that a yes or a no?" Gabby asked.
"I don't care. Will somebody just pick a movie?" Lily whined. She yawned and stretched again.
"Fine, we're going to see...Ummm...Matt? Little help?"
"A scary movie...we think," Matt said.
"Well YES dear, but what scary movie?"
"Ummmm. What about the original exorcist? Or the Omen?" Gabby jumped up.
"Exorcist!!!" Lily dove under a pile of hay. Matt laughed.
"I think that'd be fun..." Lily peered out from under some hay.
"Lily? C'mon..we can go see someting else together, if ya want."
"No...I'll go..." she said softly.
"You don't have to..."
"No, you don't have to if you don't want to," Gabby agreed.
"No....I will. I don't want to be the party pooper."
"Alright...ready to go?" Lily gazed at the fire.
"I am." Lily tied her hair back in a messy bun. Gabby poofed herself into some black vinyl.
"Ready."
"If you're all ready, I am."
"Jeff..should I actually bother getting out of my pjs?" Lily asked. Jeff shook his head.
"Nope. Its a theatre. And dark." Lily looked like she just crawled out of bed.
"Alright then. I'm ready."
"Shall I do the honours?"
"Yeah." Gabby poofed them all into a dark deserted movie theatre.
