"I think...I've got some people to poof now." Matt leaned his head against the window and looked out at the snow.

"Be my guest," Matt said. Gabby sighed, poofing Edge and Christian into some sort of oblivion. She sat down in the hay, sniffling quietly

"...wasn't so hard..." she said. Matt walked over and put his arms around her shoulders.

"Are you sure that was what you really wanted?" he asked. "Are you okay?"

"No...but I'll be fine," she said softly.

"Want to talk about it? Or do you want me to get Lily or Jeff? Or do you want me to just go away?"

"Don't go away...I just don't know if I did the right thing."

"You can always undo it..." Matt told her. She shook her head.

"No. Its done with. It...it seems kind of right." Matt nodded. "See, I'm feeling kinda okay already."

"That's a good thing."

"Heh...I bet tomorrow I'll have forgotten all about em."

"I’m not to sure about that...but you'll definitely feel better."

"In any case, thank you. For all of today," Gabby said.

"Any time...we were both kinda in the same situation, right?"

"What situation were you in?" she asked.

"The same one as you...kinda."

"I didn't really know that..."

"Well...not the exact same one...but one similar." Gabby shrugged.

"I didn't even know you had a situation," she said. Matt tickled the back of her neck with a piece of hay.

"Usually not many people do...I never talk about it." Gabby squirmed a little.

"I noticed. Sometimes talking is good though...God knows I haven't shut up all day."

"You never did before today either..." he said with a grin. Gabby stuck her tongue out.

"And I never will."

"I know...which is why we all love you so much."

"Now, I doubt everyone loves me," she said.

"I wouldn't. Name one person in the barn that doesn't love you."

"Well, I can't cause I poofed them away," she said.

"They don't count then. I meant in this barn. And I include Shan, Shane and the other group." Gabby thought hard. "Think good and hard....and I'll be surprised if you can think of one."

"I dunno...I can't really think of anyone, I guess..."

"Right again...I'm on a role," he mumbled. Gabby slapped his arm lightly.

"I'm still not saying it."

"Why not?"

"Because...I'm too immature. You know that."

"I know....but be mature for once....please? Just once Gabby...and then I'll leave the subject alone." Gabby sighed.

"All right. Matt, you're right. You've been right a whole lot today." Matt smiled satisfactorily.

"Now that wasn't so hard...was it?"

"Maaaaybe..." she said with a grin. He tickled the back of her neck.

"Tell the truth Gabrielle." She giggled.

"I aaaaam! And...you just made me giggle, you evil man!" Matt did it again. Gabby squirmed. "It won't work twice. I knew you were gonna do it."

"I knew you knew. I think ahead."

"Oh you do?" she asked.

"And yes...I am an evil man. Not as evil as Jeff...but still evil. Yes...I do."

"I think you might be just as evil as your brother."

"Not at all. You haven't even seen his evil side..."

"I probably never will either," she noted.

"Probably...he's not evil around that many people. Only when he has to be." Gabby yawned and lay down.

"No one has to be evil." Matt threw a strand of hair across her face.

"I suppose you're right." Gabby pushed the hair away.

"And I'm starting to think you're as annoying as he is too."

"I can be...I’ll admit it. But only around people I care about. Ask Lily...she finds me annoying sometimes."

"Well, she finds everyone annoying at some time or another," Gabby said.

"Is she wrong? I mean, don't you find everyone annoying at some time or another?"

"Of course I do! But I don't think I run into corners and cry about it..." Gabby drifted.

"You'd be surprised," Matt mumbled under his breath.

"Matthew! Have I once cried today?"

"No...not today. But other times."

"I can think of...once."

"I can think of times you didn't cry...but would have if you thought nobody was watching," Matt observed.

"Oh sure, there are tons of times I want to cry. But I don't."

"Well? She just does....she can't hold it in as well as you can. What can I tell you?"

"You don't need to tell me anything. I understand," Gabby told him.

"I know you do...you're a very understanding person." He looked up and out the window, deep in thought. Gabby put her hands behind her head, staring up at the ceiling. Matt sighed. He went to say something, and then stopped.

"Hmm?"

"Nothing." Gabby sat up.

"No...you were gonna say something...I can tell," she said.

"No...actually...I was just going to ask you something...but I uh...forgot."

"I don't think I believe you..."

"When have you today?"

"Practically every word outta your mouth I've believed so far..." she informed him.

"Really?" he asked, not believing. Gabby nodded.

"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"

"Usually nobody ever believes me," he said.

"Not even Lily?"

"I said usually...didn’t I? She and Jeff are the only ones...and now you. Actually...I was trying to figure out why two certain somebodies never realized how amazingly intellectual you are...." Gabby smiled.

"Thank you...and its because they never cared about that."

"Not only are you pretty...but you're intelligent and an intellectual too....definitely not something you find in the same person. They must have been incredibly dense," Matt said. Gabby looked down, blushing slightly.

"Well...I guess they were." Matt nodded. He rubbed her cheek with his thumb.

"Why so pink?"

"Because...well...I didn't expect to be flattered so much, all at once."

"I told you...they were dense. I'm just stating the obvious..."

"You're being too nice..." Gabby trailed off.

"No I'm not....I'm being what you deserve...not some thick-pigheaded-dense...person."

"Well...thanks then...even though I never knew I deserved this," Gabby said.

"Nobody ever knows it...and don't worry about it...I already stated my reason." He looked around. "Look...they're sleeping." He pointed at Jeff and Lily who were lying before the fire in eachothers arms, fast asleep. Gabby smiled.

"They're so perfect for each other."

"Yeah...they are."

"I just don't know why he doesn't get all frustrated with the whole...innocent thing of hers."

"He is....he just over looks it, because she's happier that way, and that's what she wants right now. He's happy that she's happy, and whatever keeps her happy he's going to do."

"She's lucky..."

"I guess so. You could be too, you know. All you have to do is find someone that feels the same way about you that Jeff does about Lily. Gabby rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, and that’s so easy to find," she said sarcastically.

"It is. You just have to know where to look."

"So...where do I look?" she asked.

"Where ever your heart tells you to."

"I don't think its working right anymore. I thought I was supposed to be with Edge...but that proved wrong."

"What's it telling you right this very second?"

"I don't know..." she said.

"Then don't think about it. Thinking will only cloud it over."

"But I can never make my brain shut up...it just keeps talking and talking..." she rambled. Matt kissed her softly.

"So then tell it to shut up."

"I think that did it...." she whispered. Matt nodded.

"I know it shut mine up..." he whispered back.

"So...what happens next?" she asked.

"I don't know."

"Me either..." she sighed.

"That's always a good thing....heh."

"Well...we can just not think...that works pretty good."

"Yeah...that usually works..." he said, looking up at the snow in thought. "Did you have fun today?"

"Too much fun."

"Me too..."

"I didn't think there was that much fun to be had...heh."

"There is...you just gotta hang with the right people," Matt told her, point to Jeff, Lily, and then himself. Gabby laughed quietly.

"Well, I know that now."

"Yeah...I guess you do. It just took you a little before you figured it out."

"I was just gonna say the same thing."

"Two great minds think alike, eh?" he noted.

"You scare me...I was gonna say that too."

"We share a brain already...and only after an hour or so of surfing." He smiled.

"Well, we did spend practically the whole day together."

"Yes we did...quite possibly one of the most eye-opening things I've done in a while."

"Uh-huh. No arguments there. Probably the best day I've had...well....ever." Matt smiled

"I'm glad I could be a part of it," he announced.

"Hey, you were the entire reason it was the best day ever."

"Honestly?" he asked. She smiled and nodded.

"Yup."

"I feel...special. Thank you."

"You should. You are special."

"Well, I do...so...thanks. Gee, now I don't know what to say."

"HAH! See, now I made you all speechless."

"Yes...as a matter of fact you did...this is odd." Gabby smiled.

"I know." Matt grinned.

"You evil little girl." Gabby stretched, laying down again.

"That’s me," she informed him.

"Yes...it is," he said, tickling her tummy. "Evil, evil child." Gabby squealed, trying to roll over. Matt tickled still, smiling and laughing. Gabby tried to laugh quietly so she wouldn't wake everyone up

"Are you gonna make a habit of this?"

"Maybe." Gabby grinned.

"That’s not an answer.."

"Well...what answer do you want?" he asked.

"Hmm...a yes, or no."

"Perhaps....maybe yes, maybe no." Gabby pouted at his answer.

"No fair." Matt kissed her softly again.

"There...answer better? And stop pouting," he commanded. She smiled.

"There. That answer was lots better."

"I figured it would be." He sighed. "I'm tired."

"I know...me too," she agreed.

"I think I'm gonna go to bed," he announced, getting up and laying in the hay nearby.

"Not all alone, I trust...You'll get cold." Matt patted the hay beside him. Gabby smiled, walking over and laying down next to him. Matt smiled and placed his hands behind his head. He thought a moment, and then put his arms around her waist, hugging her close.

"Goodnight Gabby." She put her arms around his neck.

"Nite Matt."
