"Morning sunshine," Edge whispered as Gabby opened her eyes. "Have a good sleep?" he asked as he slowly pulled out, careful not to hurt her.

She nodded, her heart falling into the pits of her stomach. When she had realized it was Edge with her, there was a surge of undeniable disappointment. "You?" Edge smiled and kissed her softly in response. "Yech, morning breath," Gabby teased with a wrinkled nose and teasing grin.

"Oh shush," he said with a smile, rolling to his side and wrapping his arms around her from the backside. "I’m hungry." He sank his teeth softly into the smooth flesh of her neck and she shivered slightly as it broke her skin. Drinking quietly, his hand gently massaged her. Taking his wrist to her mouth, he offered her what he knew she was craving. "Go ahead."

Lapping up what he had to offer, Gabby felt the empty hunger inside her be filled up quickly, but another hunger lingered. She turned around and stared deep into Edge’s blue eyes, determined to remind herself of here and now. Recognizing a small plea for something in her eyes, Edge understood and began to kiss her softly, landing torturing butterfly kisses down her body.

Reaching her legs, he parted her softly by the inner thighs and landed more sweet kisses, searing her skin with desire. Looking up at her for permission, she quickly granted it and moaned much to his satisfaction as his tongue swept over her slick skin. With experience and skill, he reached and pulled her pink lips apart as his tongue delve deep into her, sending her in an arch of the bed. Weaving her hand into his silky hair, she pulled him closer to her body, begging him to take her away. His tongue worked its way out and sought out the sensitive clit, dancing lightly over it before drawing it into his mouth and suckling on it gently. She felt him insert his long delicate finger into her and bucked responsively against it with more force as he added two more. The combination of his gentle suckling and violent thrusts quickly brought her to her height of pleasure.

Lost in the moment, Gabby thrusted against his luscious mouth and cried out for the one in her mind. "Oh God . . . Kael," she moaned softly. Suddenly, she felt a cool wind sweep over the tender folds of her skin and looked down to meet Edge’s wide, disbelieving eyes filled with pain.

"Gabby . . ." he said softly. "What?" Her throat constricted and her mouth grew dry. "What’d you just say?"

"I . . ." she stuttered, swallowing absolutely nothing. "What?" she asked, her eyes full of fake innocence.

Edge stood up as Gabby pulled she sheets over her body and sat up. "I heard you Gabby. You called me Kael."

"No I didn’t," she said, struggling to find an escape from the horrible reality she had cast upon herself. "I didn’t."

"Don’t lie to me," he hissed. "You’re not very good at it." Suddenly, the darker side of Edge surfaced. "What the hell have you been doing the past 20 years? Better question: WHO have you been doing the past 20 years?"

Hot tears overflowed Gabby’s eyes and she didn’t know if they were for upsetting Edge or the eternal longing for Kael. "I love you," she whispered shakily.

"Oh FUCK YOU!" Edge retorted. "Wait, I did!" His stinging words left welts on Gabby’s heart. "You love anything with a dick between its legs. I’m counting to three and you’d better tell me what you’ve done with Kael." He glared at her. "One!"

Gabby shook, shutting her eyes tightly, wishing all of reality away. "I . . ." she cried, terrified and sad at the same time. "It was just one night, Edge," she blurted out. "I’m so sorry. I was so lonely and I missed you so much and . .."

"And so you fucked Kael," Edge finished bitterly.

Looking down, Gabby sniffled. "You’re not really helping make this any easier on me, Edge."

"Why would I make it easier?" He glared at her angrily again before hastily throwing on his clothes. "I wasn’t the one who went off and fucked Kael and all the drunken bastardness within him!"

"He is NOT A DRUNK BASTARD!" Gabby screeched, not able to withstand the anger such words brought upon her. "He is a wonder, caring . . ."

Throwing her clothes on the bed, Edge clenched his fists tightly. "my ass is more wonderful and caring than he ever will be. Don’t you understand, Gabby? He’ll hurt you."

"No he won’t!" she screamed. "You’re just jealous because I love him and not you! You are so goddamn selfish, don’t you ever stop to think about my needs and desires?"

"What about me? What about the twenty years you were gone? Don’t you think I had needs and desires too? Did you stop for once to think about me!" "Oh fuck you, Edge! You are so goddamn childish sometimes. All you can think about is here and now and what you want from me. You don’t think about why I left, you don’t think about why you’re still here, and you don’t even give Kael a chance!" Gabby threw on her shirt and quickly pulled on her pants as she continued to rant through tears. "You say you love me but you don’t care. You say you care but you don’t listen. You are so immature!"

"Screw this," Edge muttered angrily before slamming the door behind him as he walked out.

Gabby looked out the window and finished her cup of coffee noisily. Getting up, she dumped the spoon and cup into the sink with a clatter, wiping her hands quickly on the rag nearby. She gasped loudly as she came face to face with Edge’s chest when she turned around.

She tilted her head up and stared defiantly into his eyes, determined to let him know that she wasn’t intimidated. "Yes?"

"I’m . . . uh . . . sorry," he stuttered.

Gabby raised her eyebrows in serious doubt. "What?"

"I said I’m sorry," he repeated, stepping back. "For being so stupid this morning."

Despite her conscious choice, Gabby felt her heart melt. "It’s okay," she whispered, allowing him to draw her into a tight embrace.

"I’m so sorry," he said into her hair. She held him tightly, surprised and deeply satisfied by his remorse. "It wasn’t your fault that you slept with him. It was just impulse."

Gabby pulled away. "What do you mean?"

"I mean . . . I know deep down you know that Kael’s an ass and that you really love me and it was just nothing for real," he said softly, stroking her hair.

Gabby pulled away violently. "What do you mean you know that I know Kael’s an ass?" Edge began to open his mouth to speak. "No, don’t even start," she hissed, suddenly extremely angry. "You don’t own me, Edge."

"I know I don’t own you," he protested.

Gabby glared at him. "But you sound like it!"

"Maybe it’s because you go around fucking everybody," he retorted, angry as well. "You’re a no good, bargain-basement, bottom dwelling whore!"

Staring angrily, Gabby stomped away. "And what does that make you?" she retorted, spinning around suddenly.

"A guy who gets an easy fuck?"

Lunging at him, Edge caught Gabby in mid air and dropped her to the ground, and she promptly slapped him angrily across the face. "You asshole," she hissed, tears streaming down her face "I wish Kael were here!"

"Why, so you can screw him again?"

Sobbing, Gabby struggled not to collapse. "It was just one night, Edge." A million emotions were overpowering her and she just wanted to crawl into a dark hole and die. "Why can’t you just understand that?"

"I did until you started being an immature bitch!"

Gabby stood up straight, still shaking. "You are the most arrogant, insensitive, self-absorbed, immature asshole I have ever met." With that, she ran up the stairs in search of comfort.
