Muslim Mom's Favorite Books

bismillah

Welcome to my library!

I am a recovering English major and an avid reader. I want to list some of the books I have found very useful so you can find them on the web, insha'Allah. The name should lead you to a place where you can purchase it on line, insha'Allah. Let me know if you want to add to the book list:) yala@angelfire.com

Books I hope you will enjoy as much as I did:)

coverDaughters of Another Path

A wonderful book about American women converting to Islam. Written by a mother whose daughter converted to Islam after marriage, hence DAUGHTERS of Another Path:)

coverTaking Charge of Your Fertility

As my husband and I were making dua for number two;), I began exploring the ways to detect ovulation. A recommendation by a friend lead me to buy this book about the Fertility Awareness Method. I feel this book will help anyone to understand thier cycle and how to use it to achieve or avoid conception.

coverMehndi: The Timeless Art of Henna Painting

I love to do henna... Ok, I am little obsessed with it, but we all have faults:) Of all the books I have seen about henna, this is the only one I felt compeled to purchase. I think you will like even if you are advanced, and of course it could give a henna newbi a head start.

coverThe Baby Book

By william and Marthe Sears, parents to seven children and partners in a family medicine practice. I love thier books. They give great advice and have a strong lean towards attachment parenting. Lots about breast feeding and the family bed... Also talks about parenting in a way that will fit your life (maybe your little one can't sleep when he's in your bed, or you have to bottle feed against your better judgement and you need advice). I think it's a must have for new moms. So long Dr.Spock:)
