I was born and raised in my grandparents house, the Ross and Jessie Joines house located on Henry Street in Madisonville.

My grandfather died in the 70's and after the death of my grandmother in the 80's, my Aunt Jean, who lives in Alabama inherited the house. It is now abandoned and forlorn, with it's roof falling in. Poor, sad, old house. Grandma's heart would break to see it.

Sarah Moore Green

This morning my Mother was remembering a time in her childhood. We were talking about bunny rabbits and she told me that when she was a child that they would eat rabbits.

She said that a neighbor, Mr Isaak Moore would catch rabbits in a trap and his daughters Sarah and Mary Nell would bring them to my grandparent's front door to sell them. Mother would skin them and grandma would fry them and serve them with biscuits and gravy.

Today Sarah Moore Green is a very disquinished woman with a school named for her.
