MCC RAINBRINGERS- STRANGE NAME FOR A CLUB !!!

How come?

Well our club was formed in Belgium in 1996 and a Belgiun friend of ours called Spidi

was the cause of the whole thing. It happened like this:-

For a few years a group of us, who were good friends, had been going to a rally in Belgium,

put on by MC Phantoms. Now they gave out trophys for mileage but we never bothered to try

to win one as we were just mates not a club. So there we were, sat in a wet field, it had been

raining rather a lot, when Spidi strolled past and said. "You'd have won a trophy if you were a

club, why aren't you?" We thought a bit and couldn't come up with any good reason why we weren't

a club apart from having no idea what to call ourselves. Ten minutes later we still hadn't come up

with a name, when Spidi strolled back, getting soaked, it was raining again and overheard us discussing it.

"You ought to call yourselves the Rainbringers, it always f****** rains when you arrive"

and so we ended up as MCC Rainbringers. The MCC is at the front because we were formed

in Belgium and that's the way they do it there. Now every year when we go over to the

Phantoms Rally, taking more members every time, Spidi shakes his head and says "I did that"

and Walter their President sticks a finger in the air and says "Rainbringers! HUH!"

as it's never rained at their rally since!!!
