The Rockies
Well, it's time once
again for the Jones' Family Vacation Page, and I am happy to report that
our carload of Jones's (can y'all believe I don't know the plural
structure of my own last name?) had yet another spec-TAC-ular time this
summer. As many of you know (because I counted how many "hits"
I had from last year on our web page counter!!!), our trip last year to
the Green Bean Cannery People in Omaha, Nebraska, was such a tre-MEN-dous
success, that many of the Jones family, which I personally polled for
results, thought that it couldn't be topped. Well, do you know that it
turns out that we were ALL quite mistaken!!!
The Jones clan loaded our minivan once again in search of adventure and
sped off to the wonderful world of Big Sky Country, home of Indians,
Cowboys, and all the prairie land you never thought you'd make it
through. For a while, this little Jones was a wee bit nervous, don't you
know, as we drove through those miles and miles of flatland on our way to
the more excitin' and mollifyin' REAL West. Our kids were getting a mite restless
with the lack of scenery, but boy did that change when we finally reached
the Rockies!
I am telling you, if you have yet to make it out to our nation's version
of the Swiss Alps, you simply must go. We stayed in the most charming
hotels; a few of them built with gi-GAN-tic trees that are so big around
you just can't believe it! Our base of operations, as you might call it,
was in Glacier National Park, and I have never seen such amazing scenes
in all my days of family vacations. We stayed one night in a hotel called
Many Glacier Hotel, and it's right on the edge of this gorgeous lake, and
the Rocky Mountains are right there across the way! We took snapshot
after snapshot with our panoramic cameras. I don't think we have room
enough in our albums to put all our great pictures!
