This week - from A Children's Almanac of Words at Play-

there's no place like my homepage...

Welcome! This week I have three poems from A Children's Almanac of Words at Play, by Willard R. Espy. Two of the poems are by W.R.E., and one is by another poet. Hope that you like them. In about a week, there is no telling what the theme for this page will be, if any, but I promise that you will get at least 5% of your recommended daily entertainment. When you have the time, please drop me a line at hippiechica@hotmail.com, for any reason at all.

LADIES AND JELLYBEANS

Ladies and jellybeans,
Reptiles and crocodiles,
I stand before you
And sit behind you
To tell you something
I know nothing about.
There will be a meeting tomorrow night
Right after breakfast
To decide which color
To whitewash the church.
There is no admission;
Just pay at the door.
There will be plenty of seats,
So sit on the floor.

-Willard R. Espy

A CONSISTENCY OF PLURALS

The plural of tooth is teeth;
Is the plural of booth then beeth?
The plural of mouse is mice;
Is the plural of spouse then spice?
The plural of that is those;
Is the plural of hat then hose,
And the plural of rat then rose?

Who Knows?

-Willard R. Espy

To get words of our order
To punctuate, badly
To confused my tenses
to ignore capitals
To employ "common or garden" cliche`s
To exaggerate hundreds of times a day
But worst of all I used
To forget to finish what I
