Only in Tunkhannock...
Why Tunkhannock, of all places???
I'm sure this is the question that is foremost in all minds now. After all, does it make any sense? No, of course not. But, does anything? Or, let me rephrase that. If it made sense, would you find it here? So, I'm going to answer your question.
Tunkhannock. Where do I begin? Well, I suppose it's really quite a simple answer. Patty died.
Wait, that doesn't work. Let me start over...
Ummm.... yeah. Right. You know what? This is hard. But, I promised. So. Yeah. OK. Patty is our robot. There. That makes it much easier. Stamp has a website in progress about that.
But anyway, the fact remains that Patty died. That was at our first competition, at Drexel. You know what, though? I think it would be more accurate to say that Patty hadn't yet lived. On the morning of the first day of competition, we had Patty outside, frantically trying to make her work. She refused. We had 10 matches. For most of them, Patty couldn't move. When she could, her motors would overheat less than halfway through, and she would stop. So, after much apologizing to our various alliance partners (except the team that cursed us off when we failed to move), we finally persuaded her to work. In our ninth match, she put a ball in the goal. It was a black ball too, worth five whole points. Of course, there was much jumping up and down and hugging and excitement, and we also had the crowd cheering for us. We didn't win, but nobody cares. They didn't care then either. We got more applause than the people who won that match. That was cool. That's just 'cause we're so cute. lol. Then, for the last match, she stopped working. But that's OK. Then we went home. OK, I lied. Stuff happened, and then we went home.
Now, I'm sure you're saying to yourself, What does this have to do with Tunkhannock? And why am I reading this instead of sniffing a cow? Well, the first question I can answer. As for cow-sniffing, you're on your own. Tunkhannock was where the next competition was. It was an invitational (the one at Drexel was the Philadelphia regional one -- yeah Philly!!!) run by team 222, the Tigertrons, from Tunkhannock Area High School. We love them, but that's another story. Right now, I'm telling you why Tunkhannock, and stop distracting me, I'm trying to get to the point here!!!
OK, breathe, be calm, think happy thoughts...
I'm better now. Why Tunkhannock? Because it was life after death. Patty had lived and died all in the space of a few hours. Now, she was resurrected.
There. That wasn't so bad now, was it?
