Only in Tunkhannock...

Trust

Would you ask someone you just met to watch your car for you? Maybe you would. If it was locked, it would be perfectly safe. But would you leave the car with the keys in the ignition? I certainly wouldn't. But somewhere out there, people* do.

We've discovered that people are always very friendly at robotics. I suppose it makes sense. After all, we lived in the convent basement for six weeks attempting to make our robot work, and we know that everyone else has had a similar experience. So we all have that connection, and we can relate to each other.

Usually, we hang out with people from other teams between matches (if our robot isn't broken), and this time was no exception. Two guys we met from another team had driven one's car up to the door, so everyone in the hallway could hear the music they put on, until we picked different music. When they had to go for a match, they went to shut it off. However, we begged them not to, and somehow we were left with the keys and instructions to watch the car. It was a very nice car too. We contemplated hiding the car (very easily done, simply by driving it around the corner), but we finally settled on decorating it with dandelions and playing volleyball over it with a beach ball. I'm not quite sure where the beach ball came from. In fact, I think it may have been theirs. Whatever, it was fun. Then we felt bad, so we removed the flowers and went back inside, leaving the car exactly as we had found it, right before they came back. Whee!

Well, that's Tunkhannock for you.
