1. Please tell the readers about the band. When it was formed, the line-up, releases and stuff like that.
Kiss of Death is born in Lecce in 1994 by my collaboration with Ivan (lead guitar). After many changes of line-up, in 1996 join the band Luigi (bass Guitar) and Andrea (drums). With this line-up Kiss of death releases two demo tapes and an Official Cd. The first demo is "Lies", released in March '97, the second demo is "Undisputed Reality", released in June '98, the Official Cd is "Stronger Than Before", released in April 2000. Now, in December 2000, we've changed the drummer, Andrea left the band for evident musical misunderstanding and a new drummer, Dario Congedo, joined soon the band.
2. How would you describe your music? What are your musical influences?
With two simple words: POWER AND AGGRESSION!! But with many melodic influences too!!!
We are grown listening to bands like Slayer, Testament, Pantera so you'll find many influences of this bands listen to our music, but we love many Swedish bands like Soilwork, In Flames, and more too.
We love the cross between Melodic and Aggressive riff!! They are cool!! If you listen to our last Cd "Stronger Than Before" you'll find this cross in many songs!!
3. What inspires you lyrically? What topics do the lyrics deal with?
My lyrics speaks of Reality, experiences of life lived personally or by observer!! But they describe also my fears, my pain, my strength, my rage, my hate, my point of view about all the images that pass through my eyes everyday!!
4. What is the main purpose of your music? Any political/religious message?
No, as I just said I express my emotions, my state of mind!! In our music there are political or religious topics, but they aren't messages, they are my point of view!! Through my music I only try to make the people knows that the world is changing from better to worse and, if we don't make anything, we'll going down with him!!!
5. What about live shows? Have you played any gigs lately? How often do you play live?
We've have played with several bands of international importance like Saxon, Linea 77, Undertakers, Natron and many more!! On live we have a great impact!! Violence and power are our point of strength!! We play often live!! Now we are on tour, we are playing all over the Italy to promote our new Cd and all is going well!! Furthermore, for this summer we'll play in many Italian Gigs!!
6. How is the metal scene in your area? Are you in contact with other bands?
In Italy there is a great metal scene!! There are many bands very good!! Also in my area there are them!! Natron is the proof!! I'm in contact with many bands all over the Italy, we are all a great family!! We all fight to support the underground band and, first of all, the Italian scene!!
7. Is anybody in your band involved in other projects? If yes, who and which?
No, every one of us plays only with Kiss of Death 'cause Kiss of Death are more than a simple band, Kiss of Death is a way to live!!
8. What is the best cd / demo you have heard in the last month?
As I just said, actually I am listening to Swedish Death metal so, I like very much many new album of this genre!!
9. What was the last concert you went to? What was the best concert you have been at?
GODS OF METAL has been the last and best concert where I've been!! Two great days of violent metal music with In Flames, Testament, Slayer and more!!
10. What kind of beverage is your favourite? Any special brands? Do you do any drugs?
I like very much BEER!! There isn't a particular brand that I prefer, the most important thing is a red strong beer!! I don't use drugs, I never used them and never I'll use them!! I don't need them!! I'm just insane by myself!!
11. What can really piss you off?
Nothing.
12. What are you plans for the future? Gigs, releases and so on.
Sooner our tour will come to an end so we'll enter again in a recording studio to release a new promo Cd composed by 2 or 3 new songs!! It will be no on sale, but we'll send it to all the European labels hoping to find a deal to release our new Cd.
