Anything but Faded

soulDecision is tearing up the charts with their debut album No One Does It Better. Their current hit single, ?Faded?, is winning over the hearts and souls of fans all across North America.

The unique style of the two-man fronted band is self-described as ?sorta contemporary? but influenced by all types of musicfrom soul to pop to hip hop to rock. These variances in influence are evident in every aspect of the group from their appearance to their concert set list.

Trevor Guthrie, Ken Lewko, and David Bowman, long-time friends, started soulDecision back in 1994, originally under the name Indecision, a name that reflected their contrasting styles. Tall, blond, Brad Pitt look-a-like, Trevor is himself a contrast on stage next to fellow front man Dave Bowman, tall, dark, muscular, and equally as sexy. Together with keyboardist, Ken, the three Canadians have created a unique sound at times somewhat reminiscent of the feel good 80s style of Wham!

soulDecision, the first band to ever open for Nsync, is currently on tour and Bounce was lucky enough to catch up with them in Birmingham, Alabama. As the third and final opening act of the night the guys captured the crowd?s attention immediately with their beautiful strong opening harmonies. Trevor and David inspired the fans to clap and dance as they performed their first two songs of the show, both of the feel good 80s pop style, and both of which contrasted greatly against their sexy current hit, Faded. Although these first two hits were exceptional in their crowd appeal the band succeeded in appealing to the crowd at an even more intense level as they broke into their dynamic version of fellow Canadian, Bryan Adams', Summer of '69. In fact the vocals of the band were in direct competition with those of the rest of the arena as every member of the audience, young and old, couldn't resist the urge to join in and sing along. But then finally the moement we had all been waiting for. Finally the band broke into the ultimate crowd clincher, Faded. "If you weren't dancing yet, there's no excuse now." as Trevor so accurately stated as the entire venue errupted into one big ball of screams. The song they had been waiting for was suddenly filling their ears and they were not disappointed! In fact, the only disappointments of the performance stemmed from the difficulties associated with touring with such an incredibly complicated and huge group as Nsync. The band was limited in the amount of stage space due to the hugeness of Nsync's set-up and as a result they were not able to move around as much as we would have liked. However David and Trevor compensated for this inadequecy by using the far reaches of the stage and encouraging the audience to get involved in the show. And it worked, in fact, the only real disappointment of the show was that guys only played four songs! Leaving us thinking, No One Does It Better!
