Back to the battle field. I forget exactly where this happens [of course] but in a certain area of the field, cameras seem to stop working. No matter what type of camera. As soon as you leave the area, the camera is fine.
The explanation for this is simple. During the war, a photographer found the body of a dead soldier. Figuring he was dead and wouldn't care, he drug the body to several areas and photographed it [these photos were found, that's where the story comes from]. This particular area was the last spot, where he just abandoned the body. Legend has it that the soldier's spirit was none too happy, and now the cameras won't work around here.
