March of the Invisible Soldiers

Here's the truth about cry-baby-bridge. It is a bridge north or new hope (in the city of new town) that crosses the Delaware River . The crying of the baby/babies is actually some sort of frog/toad which lives in the river, nothing more. The crying can only be heard during the summer, when the frogs are "out and about" I suppose. Every state along the east coast has a "cry baby bridge" of some sort, with the same basic story. A hopeless woman kills herself and her child to escape the evils of society (or an abusive husband), only to be seen decades later wandering around looking for her lost child.

The cry baby bridge in new town however does have something supernatural about it. It is near Washington's crossing, and many people have reported hearing soldier's footsteps and/or battle cries. I was skeptical, until tonight that is. A few friends and myself decided to go there, and what we found scared the hell out of us. As we walked towards the bridge we could hear footsteps. They sounded like boots. They were coming from infornt of us, and then we heard the most spinechilling sound, that will never leave my mind. It was a flute of some sort, it was playing some sort of marching song. Very patriotic sounding, it kept getting closer, closer and closer until it completely engulfed us and then faded away. It was the most surreal thing I've ever experienced in my life, and I can't explain it.

thanks for letting me waste your time,
