I've read your sites for a very long time. If I'm not mistaken, you also run weirdnj? I just have to ask why all the spreading of Urban Legends? Every article I've read connects to Satanists or KKK members. First of all, Satanists do not kill animals as part of their beliefs nor do they feel the need to tresspass in abandoned buildings for ritual purposes. Of course bored kids will spraypaint "666" or Nazi symbols in abandoned places, that does not mean they are Satan worshipers or Skinheads. The problem I have with researching abandoned buildings is, every site thinks it's ok to post folklore in place of facts. I find your sites well written for the most part, but it does pain me that you are doing nothing to stop the spread of horrible rumors about a religion most people do not understand. Satanism is nothing like we see in the movies or read in books. You could be sitting right next to a Satanist on the bus and not know what he or she believes. Perpetuating hate does nothing for historical research. I'm not trying to slam you or your site, I respect your committment, I just wish you'd stop spreading BS about certain places. Yes the legends are spooky and entertaining, but presenting them as fact is dangerous.
Thanks for listening to my criticism. I in no way mean to offend you. Please do not take my comments as anything more than frustration at hearing so many rumors about witchcraft and satanism. I'm a pagan with many Satanist friends and I get bent out of shape when I see rumors being spread that are simply not true.

Editor's note: Ok, just a few things need to be smoothed out. I'm sorry if anyone else is coming here believing this site is run by Mark and Mark at Weird NJ, and I know many people do. This site has no connection with Weird NJ, and Mark and Mark probably don't even know we exist. The truth is...this site was around well before they started their own Weird USA, so I do apologize, and I'm not ripping off of them.
Secondly, I post what the readers send. It's their interps and their experiences, no one said you had to believe that it is 100% true. If people are sending in something that offends you, I do apologize. But I'm not going to censor someone else's interp or experience.
