Frowning as she picked away at her overpriced manicure, Amber groaned dramatically.
“Justin! When are you going to wake up and realize that that little girl doesn’t belong in your
world? She’s nothing, Justin. Nothing. She’s like the dirt on the bottom of my Kenneth Cole
shoes.” She looked over at where he sat sprawled out on the hotel room’s king sized bed, and
rose from the chair nearest the balcony where she sat. Hips swaying as she walked, her gaze
locked on Justin. The leather skirt, designer halter, and overpriced shoes that she wore cost
more than a normal person’s monthly salary. Justin laid on his back on the overstuffed mattress,
staring at the ceiling, thinking about her words. Unintentionally, he toyed with the drawstring on
his track pants and sighed. Titling his head, he caught sight of the look on her face. He mistook
it for adoration. However, it wasn’t a gaze one would expect to pass between two people
supposedly so in love. It was merely a look of determination. Amber wanted Lexi gone from
Justin’s life for good, and she was going to stop at nothing to get what she wanted. After all, she
always got what she wanted, everything from the pony when she was five years old, to the brand
new BMW when she was 16, to the pop bombshell she affectionately dubbed ‘J.’ Now, whether
he agreed or not, Lexi Anderson was going to be packing her bags for home, seeing the last of
Justin Timberlake.
Amber perched herself on the side of the bed and ran her fingers down his arm. “J.. do
this for yourself, baby. She’s only going to be bad news for you in the end. And what do you
need her for?” She paused, “After all, Justin. Aren’t I good enough for you?” Her lips pursed in
a tight and sly smile. This was going to work like clockwork. Seductively, she traced lazy
patterns on his bare chest. Continuing on in a husky voice, she added, “She can’t give you what
I can, J. Not nearly.” Justin made no attempt to answer her, instead he opted to roll the
drawstring of his pants between his fingers. Hiding the grin that was nearing her face, she
thought how easy this was going to be. He was like putty in her hands. Before he knew what
was happening, she covered his mouth with her own, her lips hungrily devouring his. She pulled
away just as quickly as she had set in, her crystal blue eyes peircing through him. “Well Justin?
What’s it gonna be? Her or me? You can’t have both Justin. I won’t stand for it.”
Her hand lay flat on his chest and she continued on nonchalantly, “Don’t answer now, of
course, baby. Wouldn’t want you to say something that you’d live to regret later on. Sleep on it
and get back to me when you see me next.” Without another word, she was gone, and even
through the hotel room door, he could hear her stilletto heels clicking rhymically on the tile floor.
The clicks sent shivers through him, as though she was walking on his heart.
An ultimatum- Justin had always feared that it would come down to this. His girlfriend, or
Lexi.. Lexi or his girlfriend. He sighed loudly as a silent tear dripped down his cheek. He loved
Lexi, but he couldn’t let Amber walk away from him. Justin was in too deep, with nothing to cling
to. It was either the woman he loved or a girl who everyone always said wouldn’t make it.
Surely Lexi would know.. she would understand that he needed Amber to make him a whole
man. After all, ever since Justin knew what love was, his biggest fear was to die without it. And
if Lexi didn’t understand now, she would some day. She would when she experienced love.
Sadly, Amber and Justin shared nothing but lust- a one sided adoration on his part. He was the
puppet, and she was the puppeteer. So much for no strings being attached.
