Chapter 5

Her eyes bright, she grinned, “Justo! Where are we?”

Shaking his head, he taunted, “Ah Ah Ah... No hints Lexers.” He waved his hand in front of her face, “Close your eyes for real this time, Lexi!”

Lexi dramatically smacked a hand to her eyes and chuckled, “You’re weird, you know that, right?”

She couldn’t see it of course, but she could tell from the tone of his voice that he was grinning, “That’s why I’m a supasta!”

She felt the limo stop, and Justin grab her by the hand, her body pulled limply like a ragdoll along with him. Once her feet hit solid ground she took her free hand away from her eyes and looked around her. A carnival? Looking down at Justin she wrinkled her nose, “Justin? Are you uh.. sure about this?”

Grinning, he answered quickly, “I’ve got security.. I’ve got money.. and I’ve got Lexi... sounds like I’m positive to me...” He ruffled her hair with a quick motion, exliciting a groan from her.

“Fiiiiine. You know I like these places.. But keep that cotton crap away from me.”

Justin stopped in his tracks and looked at Lexi. “How darest thou insult the cotton candy, m’lady!”

Lexi’s blue eyes widened from behind her glasses. Thanks to her open jaw, her gum rocketed out of her mouth landing on Justin’s shoe. Her lips contorted into a small smile as she thought back.

“Justtttttin.. This place is weird! Whoever heard of a carnival like this?!” After waiting for an answer, she turned to look for Justin, and was met with a person partially suited in armor. The headgear was shut, disguising their identity. A gasp escaped her pouty lips, and she turned to walk away when a gloved hand reached out and grabbed her by the wrist.

“M’Lady, Where art thou going?”

Without thinking, ten year old Lexi smacked the hand away from her body. A girlish shreik echoed inside of the metal faceguard of her attacker, as their gloved hand reached to the mask, pulling it away. “Jeeze Lexi! Whatd you think I was some axe murdering weirdo!?”

The minute she saw his golden ringlets springing out of the helmet, she instinctively smacked him once again. “You litte geek! What’s wrong with you! Justiiiin!,” she whined.

Justin nursed his hurt arm after suffering her wrath, pulling his hand from behind his back, pink cotton candy in hand. “I got us somethin to eat, Lex.”

Wrinkling her nose, she answered, “Justo, I think I’d rather wait to see what Aunt Lynne finds for us. The thought of eating something first of all on a stick, and secondly that’s named after a fabric.. I don’t know.. Seems like a goat should be gnawing on it. Not a Lexi..”

Before she could further protest, he shoved the candy in her face. She began to speak, and unintentionally, he smashed it in her face. Justin attempeted to hold back his laughter, but found that to be an impossible task as Lexi’s eyes widened, her cheeks flushed. She spat loudly, sending the pink candy flying into Justin’s hair.

She smiled at the memory and looked to Justin “Well, what are you waiting for? We don’t have all day Mr. Timbertoes. Lets get to this carnival.”

“Ugh! One more ride, and I’m gonna puke, Justin.”

Grinning in a sadistic manner, he answered, “Pick your poison, Lil’ Lexi.” She smacked him lightly, then groaned.

“Justo.. I had a very long flight. All that I want to do is get back to the hotel. Once I get there, I’ll take a nice, long, hot shower, and sink under the covers of my overstartched sheets.”

He frowned and replied, “Fine Fine. I give up. The guys will rip you apart when they see you anyway. You’ll need your strength.” He winked at her and tugged her along to the awaiting limo.
