Gabby took in her surroundings, looking at the young man next to her as they
walked. How much she had heard about the golden haired God of the pop kingdom in the
weeks proceeding her accident. Millions of girls were in love with that face, those deep
blue eyes, and pouty smile. They lusted after him, some only the age of his younger
brother. Who was she kidding? He could start anew with almost any girl that he wanted.
But he didn’t. If nothing else, Gabrielle had come to learn that Justin was a full hearted
romantic. He had no intentions of leaving her side.
The wind swept her hair across her face gently, as she looked up towards the stars
which shone clearly in the night sky. Turning to speak to Justin, she found him already
watching her intently, as they both spoke at the same time.
“You go first,” he replied politely, his deep blue eyes, like pools of water, gazing
into hers.
She stopped walking, and sat with Justin underneath a nearby willow tree,
secluding them from the rest of the park. Licking her lips gently, her voice came out
nearly inaudibly, “I want it back.”
A puzzled expression crossed his face, “What Gabby?”
“I want it back,” she repeated, an edge of confidence seeping into her voice.
He took her hand into his own, “You want what back, baby?”
Inhaling deeply she continued, “I want you back, Justin. I want my family back. I
just.. I just want my life back, Justin. But.. I can’t get that back without you. I..Is there..
Could you..” She searched for the words.
Once Macy had told her about her life, and who she was, they had both decided to
keep it confidential that she knew.
When she didn’t continue he answered, “You want everything you had before?
Even us?” He gazed at her intently, at an attempt to take in everything she said and did at
that moment. This would be a day that he would tell their grandchildren about. His eyes
studied her delicate features as he anticipated an answer. At that moment, her cell phone’s
shrill ring sounded.
Sitting in front of Macy in an uncomfortable chair in the rehab center, JC studied
her face. “You’re up to something. I’ve known you too long not to know that.”
“Do you believe in dreams, Josh?” She asked, her eyes drilling into his.
“Of course I do, Mace. My life is a dream.”
“Get out, Josh.” She replied, a firm tone to his voice. It was difficult to hide her
smile.
His eyebrows contorted at his confusion. “Excuse me, Macy?”
“Wait for me outside Josh.” She waited for him to go, and then answered, “Josh..
unless you care for me to beat you senseless like I did when we were kids, I strongly
suggest that you get out of here and wait for me outside.”
He laughed, “I’m bigger than you now, Mace.”
“OUT!” He eventually left, and once he did, Macy reached for the phone on her
nightstand.
“Hi... Yea. It’s me... Are you ready?.. Of course.”
She hung up the phone, a satisfied grin on her face.
After shutting off her phone, Gabby stood up, taking Justin’s hand. “Before I
answer that, Justin...There’s.. there’s something that you need to.. well.... Something that
you need to see.. so, if you’d come with me..”
His blue eyes searched hers for a clue. Determination was set in her strong features, and an unavoidable smile crept on his face. Something was going on with Gabby, and he was about to find out exactly what.
