“Gabby, meet JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and Chris
Kirkpatrick. He’s the one with the dog. Fellas, this is Gabrielle Reynolds.” Justin
said as he made the initial introductions.
Lance, always the gentleman, rose from his seat and shook her hand, “It’s
very nice to meet you Gabrielle. Congrats on your deal with Johnny.”
Smiling, she said, “Thank you so much Lance. It’s nice to meet you too.”
Then, Joey got up, then being the Casanova, and kissed her hand,
“M’lady. Lovely to make your acquaintance.”
“Well, aren’t we the charmer? Nice to meet you too, Joey.”
JC came over from his seat and he said nicely, “It’s great to have you
here, Gabrielle.”
“Thank you, JC. It’s nice to be here.”
Chris, stepping up with Busta in his arms. Then he put the little dog on
the floor, who immediately ran into a corner and relieved himself. “Awww Busta!
Man.... it’s okay little fella. Daddy’ll clean it up.”
Justin laughed, “That’s right. Daddy’ll clean it up.”
Gabby extented her hand to shake Chris’s as she had the others, and he
exclaimed, “I don’t think so! You’re part of the family now! Gimme a hug!”
After they all became acquainted with each other, Gabby sat back,
contented. She had just found herself five true lifetime friends.
Gabby, Justin, Chris, and his girlfriend Danielle were sitting in Gabby’s
apartment the next day when a knock sounded on the door. Jumping up from
the couch, Gabby announced, “I’ll get it.”
Her guests heard a loud groan when she discovered who was outside the
door. “What do you want?” Gabby asked sharply. Instantly, Justin knew who
was outside the door-Brett.
“I just can’t leave you here. I couldn’t bring myself to do that.”
Gabby spoke harshly, “Get in here. Stand next to the door, don’t make
yourself comfortable. You aren’t staying long.” Once he was inside the door,
she said, “Now, why don’t I try putting this in layman’s terms for you?” She
pointed at herself and said slowly, “I have my own life. I can make my own
decisions. One of my decisions is to leave you out of my life. I’ve got something
special here in Orlando.” then her finger turned to him, “You...you have your
own life. You don’t need me in it, nor do I want to be a part of it. Get it?”
Frowning he said, “I can’t leave you here...”
Suddenly, Chris sprang out of his chair. “Look, I do believe that the lady
is asking you to leave. Now, you better leave if you know what is good for you.”
“Good for me?” Brett asked.
Nodding, Chris replied, “Yes. You see, her boyfriend over there,” he
pointed at Justin, drawing looks from both Gabby and Justin, “Has anger
management problems. Just got out of a childhood of lockup. Now, you
wouldn’t want him to break that pretty little face of yours, would you?”
Brett frowned, “Boyfriend?”
Taking his cue, Justin jumped up, and protectively put his arm around
Gabby. “Yes. Yes, that’s right, man.”
Gabby turned, wide eyed, and exchanged a look with Dani, who was
having a hard time trying to contain her laughter. “Out Brett. Before I unleash
my dragon on you.”
“What am I going to tell your parents?”
She answered quickly, “You’re going to tell them nothing. If they cared
enough to know anything about me, they would have come themselves. They
would have looked for me. Now, goodbye Brett.”
And with that, he was gone out of her home, and hopefully from her life.
Once Brett was gone, Gabby turned and looked at Justin, whose arm was
still encircling her shoulders. “Thanks Dragon Boy. Owe ya yet again.”
Chris looked at Danielle and asked, “You okay Dani? You thoroughly
were enjoying the happy couple...” Both Dani and Chris turned and looked at
Gabby and Justin, who still had his arm around her.
Wiggling out of his reach, Gabby tried so sound sarcastic, “Yes, I love
Justin. If you’ll excuse me guys, I have to get changed. I’m meeting Johnny at
the studio to start recording.”
As she started for her room, Chris murmured, “That didn’t sound so
sarcastic to me.”
Smiling, Dani added, “Me either.”
