My Super Cat

I chased her around when she was a little furball,
Didn’t think much of it then.
I just wanted a little kitten to pet.

I caught her for the first time,
And petted her cookies and cream fur.
This was new to her.

I caught her a second and third time,
She liked it more and more each time.
We let our litter out that day.

The next day I waited for the bus.
I heard a loud whumph.
There she was,
Purring on the back of my wheelchair.

Now she is all grown up,
Purring while I write this poem.

I Got Me A Little Tent

I got me a little tent,
with a little kitty to go with it.

She sleeps soundly in her basket,
away from enemy's stare.

That little tent,
Oh, that little tent.

Let another kitty in,
and say goodbye to that little tent.

A SECOND CHANCE

Schoolwork's not done,
Room's not clean,
Television's on and I'm
watching TV.
Mom comes in, says, "Go to your
room...you're grounded."
I go to
my room and think...about the good weekend I could have had. I
yell aloud, "I WANT A SECOND
CHANCE!"
But no one can turn
back time.

Wednesday comes, I'm not grounded
Anymore...I have a second chance --
Should I do it?
Could I do it?

CHASED

A standoff.
She had two men. A bishop on the black, and a king.
I had one man. A king.
Just stay on the white spaces, I said to myself.

I knew that I could not checkmate her king.
But how was she going to catch me with just a bishop?
I easily got away from her.

trapped!
One move of the king, just to get right in front of
me, and I would lose the game.
THEN I REALIZED.
SHE COULD’NT MOVE THERE OR SHE WOULD BE WITHIN ONE SPACE
OF ME.

SHE COULDN'T CHECKMATE ME.
I COULDN'T CHECKMATE HER.
IT WAS A DRAW.
