FRANK BLACK SOLO ALBUM/TOUR IN 2005

The Pixies have been relentlessly touring since april of this year, having reunited after thier break-up 12 years ago. After releasing limited edition cdr bootlegs from the first leg of the tour through disclive, the band is stepping it up, "releasing real, professionally mastered, silver-plated, pressed CD recordings from the last 12 dates on the tour, Including the Norfolk, VA show, the two dates in D.C., thier homecoming gig in Boston and the 8 show finale at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. The Band is making other dates are available for download at www.musictoday.com in mp3 format. Each show is 12 dollars a piece.

In addition to this the band has also been producing a documentary of the 2004 tour which is expected to be released in the summer of 2005.

Frank Black has also hinted at another tour next summer but has no promises yet for a future studio album release saying "I don't even know. I think the next time we go out, if we go out next summer, there won't even be the record out yet."

However there is definitely going to be a new 2-disc Black solo album released in March of 2005. He has been recording on and off, without his current band, The Catholics all year.

MORE SONIC YOUTH RE-RELEASES AND DVDS

"Sonic Nurse" Sonic Youth's best album since "Dirty" is in record stores stores now.
Buy it right this second.

Also DGC is reissuing several of thier earlier releases as double disc sets with many b-sides and outtakes thrown in for the fans. But the best re-release info is that of their tour Documentary "1991: The Year that Punk Broke" on DVD with many bonus features and hopefully some commentary. Read more about it at www.sonicyouth.com

LIZ PHAIR IN STUDIO

According to her webpage Liz Phair is currently in the studio recording a follow up to her last self titled release. One can only hope this new album has more in common with Exhile in Guyville and Whipsmart than her last two discs.
