PREPARING FOR THE VISA INTERVIEW

You never know you will get an admission or not. You will keep getting offer letters pretty late, around the end of march. You will keep these letters even after you have reached USA ie, till september. Its not unusual that you go for an university and two weeks after you have joined you parents call up to inform you of another offer letter which has just arrived from a better college. You wished it would have come earlier. Its not in your hands. All you can to avoid such situations is to apply as early as possible. Some students change universities at the last moment, some even change universities after completing their first semester. We will not deal with such issues here.

Preparing for the visa interview is a long process as you prepare various documets. So you have to start this process very early. You have to play a gamble here, if you don’t get an admission then all your effort is wasted. If you get an admission offer then you are well on your tracks. Remember by the time you receive the offer letters you wont have sufficient time to prepare. In haste, you will try to find short cuts and somewhere some document gets messed up. You know you have messed up things and trying to cover up, you wont be able to appear the interview with peak confidence. Avoid such situations, all your effort of one years hangs around this final and most important point, clear the interview.

Another reason why you should go early for the visa interview is that even if you are rejected in your first attempt, you still have time for a second and third attempt. Its going to be a one to two minute interview. In this two minute interview depends your career. A slight shaking voice, fumbling for an answer, search too long for a document, a signature missing on some document, an attestation missing on a document, a wrong answer – there, its finished. We strongly recommend you start preparing for the visa interview as soon as despatching the applications is done. Don’t wait for the admission offers to arrive.

Appear for the visa interview as early as possible. The more late you are, the more the number of students appearing and greater the number of rejections. Students who go late are usually hastily prepared. Very high chance of a rejection. Also because of the crowd, the visa officials give less time to each students, at peak time there are interviews which takes less than one minute. You cannot appear for an interview more than three months prior to the admission. At least you should be one half months ahead of the date of the date of admission. In the next few sections you will find many other reasons to schedule an early interview.
