Snowflakes

I watched the snowflakes dancing
In mesmerizing patterns to the ground
Like tiny fluffy clouds
Falling without a sound

Each tiny white crystal
Like frosty little stars
Twinkling brightly
Catching a flick of light from afar

Settling on the branch tips
Like white sugar frosting
Dressing all the bare limbs
Naked from the leaves falling

Spiraling down to the ground
In hypnotic pirouettes
Laying softly on the earth
Draping it with a fleece blanket

The cloak of winter descending
Over us peacefully
A pure, white winter coating
Wrapping us all snuggly
