I Dreamt A Dream

I dreamt that I was falling
and never hit the ground
I heard my echo when I screamed
A scream without a sound

I spread my wings wide open
to soar the endless sky
But suddenly remembered
I didn't know how to fly

I walked the sandy dunes
counting each tiny grain of sand
And wondered if my hourglass
would be turned by a waiting hand

I swam the deep blue ocean
against current and tide I fought
But then at some point I realized
I was drowning in my own thoughts

I dreamt a dream last night
And you were right there by my side
As we walked this dream together
We saw the entities collide
