One of the most enjoyable projects I’ve ever worked on – extremely short timescales (6 weeks!) mean’t that we had little scope for innovation. More than just a port however – we took the Pirates! game engine from the Amiga 500 version (vastly superior to the later released PC Pirates! Gold) and merged this with some awesome graphics created by Microprose Hunt Valley for a Genesis/Megadrive version. Added to this we threw in an FMV intro and some extremely good Pirate shanty in CD audio form (including a dance rendition of “What shall we do with the drunken sailor” sang by the dev team which plays when you view the credits)
