Recommended Systems for running the Elite games |
The recommended system for playing ELITE the 1986 version would be and old IBM PC or compatible system a colour monitor and 640K RAM or more as this version of ELITE was programmed to work on a system of this kind. The computer I use to play this game is an Amstrad 1640 PC and works just fine.

The same type of game
as before just with more better graphics and sound support, the game has three graphics
modes to play with you may chose ether EGA, VGA or MCGA the game looks best in MCGA mode.

For playing FE2 this can be played on a modern PC the only problem being that the game requires quite a lot of EMS memory in DOS 6.2 you could run a program called "memmaker" to configure your memory in order to run FE2. But most modern PC's don't have "pure DOS" installed in them. The best system to run this game on would be a 486DX 66Mhz or a Pentium 60Mhz with DOS 6.2 and 8MB or more you might also need a DOS mouse driver you can download one from the downloads page.

Playing FFE this can
be played on most modern PC's but I have heard of a problem of running this game in
Windows ME but works fine on Windows 9x but you must shutdown in to MS-DOS mode and you
will still need a DOS mouse driver.
