Non-Elite space simulation games

Here are some non-Elite games or simulations.
In Shuttle you have to pilot a NASA Space shuttle through several missions from the first real test flights in the late 70's to capturing satleites in orbit but I must warn you this is a VERY hard game and VERY complex by the time you complete the game you should be able to fly a real Space shuttle you can download it from www.theunderdogs.org go along there to pick-up many other great freeware games.

X-beyond the frontier is very like Elite in this game you can trade with the local systems and even purchase your own space space stations where other ships can purchase goods that you manufacture you can also mine asteroids by constructing mining devices around them, but you can't land or even go near planets and at the start of the game it can be very hard to start off it took me three weeks of playing the game to construct my first space station and that was the most cheapest one nonetheless this game is ok to play for purchasing this game go to www.beyondthefrontier.com or www.egosoft.com or even try www.thq.co.uk.
