Sugar Ray

It's been a long time coming for Sugar Ray to hit it big. They 've been together now for 6years touring and making three CDs.Out of three they've released this is probably the best and expresses more emotion than the other two.

The CD starts out with a very hard rock song "New Direction"that is more remiscent of the songs on "Floored".But they never move into the hard rock material in any of the other tracks, which is more of relief than a dissapointment. They create some very good mellow love songs("Even Though","Someday","Ode To The Lonely Hearted") and a great,dead-on remake of Steve Miller Band's "Abracadabra".They also do another cross-over duet with KRS-One on "Live And Direct" which isn't as catchy as "Fly" but isn't bad either.

The CD has shown more emotional growth in the band and also a side of Sugar Ray that is different from the drugs-and-alcohol songs on "Lemonade and Brownies" and "Floored".I hope Sugar Ray stays that way and hopefully there popularity won't end in 15 minutes.
