Nut Curculio
We have good luck trapping the nut curculio adults with cone pecan weevil traps with an open Legget top and with Tedders' pyramid traps. A few adults will be caught in late April with the peak activity occuring from late May to early July and trailing off throughout August.

Early - mid June is a critical time for nut curculio control in orchards that have a history of damage. We have found larvae developing in hickory nuts and pecan nuts are reaching the size for oviposition. Adults overwinter in the leaf litter and migrate in from woodlots adjacent to the orchard.
