Injury Report
I failed to report an injury. Seems Garry Wamsley's pitching career with the Seattle Mariners has come to an abrupt end as he had surgery on his rotator cuff. They successfully repaired the tear, scraped the bone (ouch!) and he is blissfully dozing on the sofa on percocet. The next few days will be ugly, then comes several months of healing and exercise to get mobility and strength back. Plans are on being in fighting shape by race time. In 8-10 months they will evaluate the other shoulder and decide if surgery is warranted there.
As for the boat, the plans are to go with a heavier 1 litre schedule this summer and make Russ earn it!..............(3/23/00)
New Baby
Lee and Terry Collins (y41) report that they are new grandparents of a baby girl, Olivia Lee Quesada at 8 lbs and 1 oz. Mother and Dad and baby doing just fine. Grandma, Grampa and "Uncle Tim" on cloud nine (Grandpa maybe still a little weak in the knees).............(3/20/00)
1 Litre Meeting
Last Friday the Detroit area 1 litre racers had an informal get together/ pizza/ meeting to discuss some ideas. We coordinated a chat room at the same time. Some interesting discussion came and we will be advancing some items in due time. Joe Cheezum was in town for a Saturday meeting and joined us. Also attending were Patti Hayes, Bobby Kennedy, Steve Linn, Jim Sechler, Cal Phipps, Justie Schaller, Rick Falcinelli and Bob Belf. The chat session went from 8 pm until near midnight as we had 27 total racers on overall. We even had Tony Penington from Australia join us. Race Cancelled
We saw yesterday that the Region 3 Spring race at Lake Hopatcong has been cancelled. They struggled with funds. The race in fall, September 15 and 16th, is still ON...........(3/16/00)
Change of Dates
The date of the Region 10 race at Entiat on the Columbia River has been changed. The new dates are May 19 and 20th. This was previously scheduled for April 28 and 29th..........(3/16/00)
To all 1.5 Litre Stocks:

We'd like to know how many Stocks are coming out West for the Divisionals/Nationals in Washington, early July? Since, "California Kid" is the only legal 1.5 Stock on the West Coast, we would like to plan for this race. How many other 1.5 Stock boats will be attending the races, Divisionals/Nationals. I'd like to encourage your attendance at the races. The area is beautiful at this time of the year. We, ourselves, drive 1200 miles to race in Washington and find it very rewarding. The people and comaradary is overwhelming. The bench racing is fun too!

Boats Changing Hands
I went through and eliminated the boats off of the for sale page that have sold. We will see the Double "O" hull, the ex t-60, the y-155, the old y-11 and the y-16 running this season in our classes. There are a few more for sale that I will list shortly. Great to see we have a few boats changing hands and getting on the water!...........(3/16/00)
Entiat Changed
The date of the Entait raceon the Columbia River north of Wenechee is to be moved to a later date - May 19th and 20th. The previous date was April 28 and 29. This will help a couple of racers get ready as they will have a little more time...........(3/14/00)
DL
This entire winter has been an injury recovery for Carol Dodge. She hurt her arm in October holding another boat (thanks for helping) and has faced a slow healing process since. Two operations, three cast, therapy, x-rays, pain and her hand is still in a cast. Russ is getting impatient as he needs her talents and help. Best of luck as you recover, Carol ..........(3/14/00)
Baby
On another health issue of another sort, Terry and Lee Collins will not be attending the Friday evening meeting as they are having a baby. Well not exactly. Daughter Kristen is having her first child and is due any minute. This is the first grandchild for Terry and Lee and they are more nervous now than ever. Best of Luck to all ..........(3/14/00)

New Look
After a little time of revamping the web page, we have a new look. We have split the front to dedicate more time to each class. I am updating more pages and have intentionally left the galleries out at the moment. Everything else is still there but re-arranged..........(3/12/00)

Terry reports that his cell is now installed and glassed on to his Karelson hull. He will run the 2000 and now has to finish the cockpit. He is looking to test at Moses Lake this spring. One more good boat in Region 10. Good Luck Terry...........(3/12/00)
Testing
Joe Cheezum reports. Kent Narrows will be testing the same weekend (April 28 & 29) The cost will be $125 per entry. Registration will start at 8:30 am and testing will start at 10 There will be food and refreshments served by the Yatch Club on the grounds during the day. On Saturday night the Yatch Club Building Comm will serve a beef diner (probally prime rib) and there will be a DJ at the Club for dancing. The circular will be mailed out soon. Region 4 Cell Test
Region 4 has a test scheduled at their Region meeting also.
Region 4 Capsule Training Date: There will be a capsule training in conjunction with the Region 4 spring meeting and Banquet. It will be at the Dunes Manor Hotel, 28th street and Baltimore Ave., in Ocean City MD. Capsule training will be held on Sunday March 25 at 10:00 am until. Contact Steve Barrett to be placed on list.
