You open the leatherbound book, which looks to be quite old and used much. You begin to read its tattered parchment pages...
The Eyries of Lekali are home to the gryphons. There are two eyries in Lekali.
The basic layout of the eyries
The eyries are both located in Fenna Lé. Nialle Eyrie is located at Mount Nilae. Mount Nilae is located in the western Sundyri Mountains, right at the south end of the Dagryn River. Vanek Eyrie is located in the Grove of the Gryphons, which is located in northeast Fenna Lé. The eyrie there is built on and into a steep hill in the center of the Grove.
An eyrie is built into cliffs or at a large, steep hill. The entrance of a eyrie is a very large terrace and opening. This allows the gryphons to land with easier access to the eyrie itself. Inside the entrance, hallways shoot off into the cliffs or hill. They lead to the candidate's and worker's quarters, the storerooms, the Great Hall and living rooms, the Hatching Grounds, and the rider's quarters.
The Hatching Grounds at Nialle Eyrie are located in a large, flat area of the cliffs. The Hatching Grounds at Vanek are located at the top and center of the hill. There are bleachers built up around the edge of the Grounds and the center is a large pit of sand, with a straw nest-like structure sitting in the center.. That is where the eggs are laid and hatched. When the Hatching takes place, people and gryphons fill the stands and the candidates stand in the Sands, a little bit away from the nest, waiting to Unite.
The individual rooms for the riders are quite large. They are all chiseled into the cliffs or built into the side of the hill, and all have a large terrace at the outside entrance that is big enough for gryphons to land and take off. Inside, there are stone walls. There is a large living room that is used to relax in. There is a separate room that has the gryphon's nest-like bed and care supplies. There is also a bathroom and a bedroom for the gryphon's Partner.
