Dance, Thumbkin, dance, Wiggle the thumb on its own,
Dance, Thumbkin, dance. tucking the four fingers in the palm;
Thumbkin cannot dance alone,
So dance you merry men every one. then wiggle all fingers;
Dance, Thumbkin, dance. then the thumb on its own again.
Dance Pointer, dance, Repeat the game with each finger.
Dance, Pointer, dance. Either help the child to perform the
Pointer cannot dance alone. actions, or put on a show yourself.
Dance you merry men every one.
Dance, Pointer, dance.
Dance, Longman, dance,
Dance, Longman, dance.
Longman cannot dance alone,
So dance you merry men every one.
Dance, Longman, dance.
Dance Ringman, dance,
Dance, Ringman, dance.
Ringman cannot dance alone.
Dance you merry men every one.
